What is your favorite kinds of alcohol?

Usually, I just drink shots of whatever is available. Though, I have a particular mix of vanilla vodka, blood orange skyy, blue curacao, orange juice, pineapple juice,and sprite that is amazing. Today (at Octoberfest) I was determined to find something I liked. I tried many beers and all were disgusting. But, I found an amazing wine that tastes just like juice. Sadly, I forgot to write down the name of the comapny AND wine because I was a bit buzzed. Hopefully I can find them online.

If i don't respond, I finally succumbed to alcohol and heat.

I watched the pilot not expecting to like it. But i loved it. And the second episode was just as good. Honestly, this show is just perfect, at least so far. And really timely in terms of its commentary and themes. We're already two episodes in and I'm already really excited about it.

Anyone else watched this and have any thoughts?

Red Dwarf XI:- Anyone watching?

Anyone watching the latest season of Red Dwarf? How are you enjoying it? I'm quite liking it, I felt ep1 was a bit disjointed but Ep2 was a huge improvement, a return to the space bickering and continuity from Season V (I think, Justice World) too. I like that Chris Barrie has a better haircut this season than in X, and that while Rimmer is still Rimmer; he seems to be a more relaxed version of Rimmer and not quite as uptight and snidey. Continuity from the previous season finale episode where he learned he had a lot less to live up to than he thought and the pressure was a bit off him.

Thing I don't like is Robert Llewellyn's weight gain is getting far too much for his Kryten costume to conceal. If there is to be an XII then he needs to be put on the treadmill to lose at least a stone and a half, or promote him to being the new Holly and be a face on a screen. It just ain't working no more.

Why is it that when I can actually read/respond to stuff here in a timely fashion (my days off, basically), 99 percent of the time, the secrets are ones I don't care about and/or know nothing about the fandom/actor/whatever?

Am I the only one who DOESN'T hate watch things?

Life is too short to waste it on watching TV shows I don't enjoy.

Depressing and gross horse stuff.

Today I learned that one of the horses at the barn where I keep mine has died. Her name was "Naked" (poor thing) and she just stopped eating one day and slowly wasted away. Even the vet doesn't know why, though given that no one knew her true age, maybe that had something to do with it? I'm a little worried that it may have been something contagious, but so far none of the other horses (especially Sharif) has gone off their feed, so maybe not? Regardless, she was a sweet little mare and I'm going to miss her.

On top of that, Sharif has developed an orange nasal discharge and I don't know what's causing it. I did some research and the suggestions ranged from tooth infection (which I doubt is the cause, as he certainly has no problems with chewing, as he repeatedly demonstrated) to sinus infection, which is more likely. I want to get the vet out there to take a look, but I can't afford to until Friday at the earliest. He doesn't seem to be suffering otherwise, thankfully, but I can't help but worry.

Anyway, I'm all depressed and could use some cheering up. Anyone got any cute stuff they could share?

Cat injury advice

I was having a pleasantly uneventful day, and then my teenage kitten bolted in with an eye injury. He won't open it and it looks all swollen and weepy. It's Sunday, so the vets are all closed. Should I call the emergency vet?

I don't know if I have ever been involved in book club, but I would like to rec Dark North by Gillian Bradshaw. It's historical fiction set in Roman-era Britain. It follows the adventures of Memnon, an Ethiopian cavalry scout serving in a Roman military outpost, as he tries to uncover various political conspiracies while also dealing with hostile native British tribes who are antagonistic to his outpost.
