I haven't seen Supernatural in a couple of seasons but I know the basic gist of what's going on. Something that surprised me though was seeing a few people around the fandom saying that Sam was canonically raped by Lucifer in the show. Is this true? If it is, then I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen a whole lot more discussion about it

I'm a huge Mad Men fan, and I've seen every episode, but I go on tumblr and people can pinpoint what season it is just by clothing or a quote. I do my best to participate and be active in fandom, but I feel like a bad fan for not being able to rattle off all the facts and figures.

Not secret: This secret is going to give me away faster than you can say "sexism in the sixties".
Bonus secret: I started rewatching the series this morning.

It's possible that there's just something I'm missing out on BUT as far as I am aware: Star Trek fandom and TNG fandom is very, very diffuse. It's not centralized, at all - I think mostly of a consequence of being relatively large and old. It's not really a discrete fandom at all so much as a lot of people who all like talking about Star Trek a whole bunch.

In other words, wherever two or three of you who like Star Trek are gathered together to talk about it constantly and endlessly, that's where the fandom is.
