Book Recs?

I've been reading S.M. Stirling's "Dies the Fire" and its sequels, William Forstchen's "One Second After" and James Wesley Rawles's "Patriot". All of the books have the same concept of what woulld happen if you take modern conveniences? The three books all start out differently and deal with the hardships differently, but I enjoy the concept.

It's similar to the TV show Revolution, but a little less over-the-top TV show ridiculous, I guess.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions for similar "Doomsday" books?

The guy I last saw found my Wishbone DVD set in my collection when he stayed over. The disdain in his voice made it sound like it was the worst thing I could ever own (but his extensive tentacle porn collection was the most normal thing in the world). This "relationship" didn't last, obviously.

This series means a lot to me. It helped keep my love of reading alive, and my mom got me the set as a gift. It hurt that this was seen as abnormal. It makes me scared that my likes - subtle as they are - are going to keep me alone. That, or I'll have to keep everything I love hidden the rest of my life.
