Does your manner of speech ever change because of fandom?

I've noticed that when I'm exposed to a certain type of speech or language for a while, whether it's because of a RL person or fiction, I start to pick it up. For example, when I was in school, if I started hanging around with a certain kid I'd eventually catch myself using phrases that that kid used, or saying things with the same sort of intonation.

I've also noticed myself doing it after reading books. Like, I'll accidentally use some kind of slang from a book (not great if it's made-up slang for some futuristic setting) or thinking about things using the same kind of language the book uses.

Anyone else do this?

I watched For a Lost Soldier the other day. Holy shit did it make me uncomfortable. I've never had a problem of reading underage fics, and the movie was ambiguous whether the kid (he was 12 or 13 IIRC) and the soldier actually had sex or not, but I guess seeing actual people instead of words is different (who would have thought? -_-).

Still, the interactions were okay, I guess. Some of it, anyway. The others straddle that line where it's aaw-cute (the kid crushing on the older guy and having fantasies about him, which I can totally empathize with because I've been there) and oh-god-did-that-just-really-happen (the older guy saying the kid was 'so fucking special' and cradling his neck and stuff)

For some reason I'm in the mood for some poetry. I've never really taken to them, probably because a lot of my experience with it is from analyzing and dissecting it.

Ones that rhyme are preferable, but not a requirement. And I think links to audio/video of readings of poetry pieces would be cool.
