The Stardust movie is vastly superior to the book, though. I love Gaiman, but the movie version is just so, so good. The actors alone are excellent.

I do agree with you about American Gods, though. I just don't think it would make a very good movie/mini-series.

I should check this out. I had a crippling fear of dogs until I got a cat, oddly enough, but I'm only at the point where I can deal with a) dogs on a leash that I walk past or b) dogs that I have been properly introduced to.

If I see a strange, unleashed dog of any type or size I have to fight my flight instinct very hard. I was once approached by someone walking her unleashed dog in the middle of the night while I was fumbling with my door lock and was already nervous, and I seriously just ran. Luckily the dog and human were perfectly normal people who probably side-eyed me and went on. But this happened when I was like, 23.

Well, it's entirely possible that it really meant a lot to Bill to have his parents come to see what he was working on. And a vacation like that can go a long way as far as morale raising goes in a poor family, which can be more important than good textbooks.

This is what you do, OP-- make a game of it. Get some of your mutual fandom friends together, write down the names of all the characters in your fandoms and throw them in a hat and start drawing two slips at a time and seeing what weird ships you can spawn. Bonus points if someone starts to legit ship it. ;)

I'm really sorry that happened to you.

They definitely should have tried harder, being in fandom and all. But if you were proud of it, and your story had readers, you should continue it! It means your story had a niche, maybe it was small, but people still wanted to read it.

Do it and forget about the haters!

I've never heard an artist complain/being creeped about someone drawing their OCs. Most of them *love* it, in fact.

I know confronting people can be hard, but I'm sure if you do decide to show them the artist will appreciate it.
