(I apologize if this seems more suited to the Anon meme, but, well, anon, and I feel like getting notified of responses)

So for the umpteenth time, i've seen "I'm annoyed that people want to see this movie just because this actor/actress is in it" - is this a real concern people have? As long as they are not rude in the stadium or theater, is it really that big a problem?

Playing "evil" in RPGs

In video games where the choices you make affect the plot, like Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and so on - how do you play? Good, evil, or somewhere in between?

I tend to get really invested in the world and my character, and tend to play more for the "role playing" aspect of gaming rather than sheer gameplay. For that reason, it's really tough for me to play evil. I don't mind, err, chaotic neutral if you will, but even in video games, I just can't murder in cold blood, completely screw someone over, or even do anything emotionally disturbing. I just feel too bad about it. Now, trolling and minor mischief for the lolz are fine, but nothing really horrible.

Post inspired by my current Skyrim playthrough. I really wanted to play a darker character - okay, I mostly wanted the Shadowmere horse, which you only can get from joining the assassin's guild. But when forced to kill one of the hostages, I just killed the assassin instead, and abandoned any chance at getting that horse. :(

I made my investment purchase in two new pairs of shoes: one for running and one cross trainer great for the gym. It used to be I can only have sneakers in either black or white. My running and gym shoes are blue with lime green laces. I don't even care now what color they are, as long as they protect my feet!

Are you sometimes influenced by your first language when you communicate in another language? Do you have moments when you go "Shit, I totally forgot my native tongue"?

Like I am German and sometimes when I write in English I catch myself capitalizing random nouns. Or as I am spending more and more time on the internet communicating in English, I sometimes can't think of the appropriate German vocabulary when talking to my friends in person. Or the grammar will come out completely wrong because I have two ways of expressing myself in my head.

Hurting/Aching Teeth Anon

It was stress. I didn't even know that was a thing that could happen. Apparently, I had been clenching (maybe grinding) my teeth so hard while I slept that it was making them hurt all the next day (and gave me headaches). Friday night I woke up several times and everytime I was all, "Oh, I am clenching my teeth. Don't do that." And then I got a cheap night mouth guard from Walmart to wear Saturday night, no more hurt teeth! So now I gotta buy a better quality one to wear. Any suggestions from anyone who might wear them?

And now there's some "twitter purge" thing people are talking about and I have no effin clue what that is either. Here's the poll!

To the anon who wanted to vote up to 3 times: I tried to do that (since there ended up being 11 choices) but unfortunately the only options on this poll site were "vote once" or "vote as many times as you like". I kept it at one for now, but I can change it to the other if you want, that is no problem, just let me know. We could do an "honor system" where everyone votes only three times; I'm not sure how far I trust that, though. If you want to make it so we vote exactly 3 times and that's regulated by the poll itself, I'm gonna have to find another poll site (suggestions anyone?) and do it that way for September's book. Sorry I wasn't able to do it this time.

I'll keep this poll open for...maybe not quite a week; I want to give people enough time to get the book after it's chosen. Maybe I'll close it on Friday? But then again it may just be easier for me to leave it open for a week due to my work schedule. Preferences?
