My fandom(s) aren't particularly satisfying me right now. I want to write fic, but, at the same time, I don't. I want read fic, but it doesn't exist. I want to chit-chat about fandom stuff, but I like characters people don't care as much for. And I don't really feel like sustaining a conversation anyway. Playing Sims is doing nothing for me right now. I don't want to get into a new fandom right now. Sigh.

You guys ever get like this? Use this thread for fandom talk so this just isn't a wasted post.

Please help me here FS. When and where can I stream it? I wanted to subscribe to Netflix to watch it the legal way but my computer runs on Ubuntu and Netflix just doesn't work on Linux.
I spent four hours yesterday trying everything and anything I found on the 'net to try to make it possible but my computer simply refused to install any package, finding all of them faulty and/or incomplete. I can't even upgrade Firefox for Epidity's sake! So short of changing my whole OS, I don't know what to do, and I don't even know whether I could do that.

Even if there were torrents I don't think I could use them. Nothing on Vimeo yet. Only streaming source I found linked from YouTube linked to a shady site that wanted me to give them my credit card info to subscribe--yeah right like I'll believe you when you say you're free then!!

So? Any other idea?
Of if pirating fails for now, d'you reckon the series will get a DVD release I could buy some day? and if so, when?

I realized I had forgotten just how much I like swimming, since I hadn't done it in ages.

You know, when there's a popular pairing, and everyone loves it and so do you, but everyone else favors character A and therefore writes tons of fic focusing on A's angst while B sits around and holds his hand; or where B mistreats A terribly so that A can show how noble and self-sacrificial he is for loving B even though B is being a dickwad.

And this becomes especially irritating when you, unlike the majority of shippers, favor B rather than A.

Who else went "WTF they recruted Katniss Everdeen" when they showed the first pictures of Rouge?

Who else went "WTF they're totally trying to milk the Frozen craze" when they showed Blanche and Rouge's backstory?

What did everyone else think of this episode? I liked it, the team was both great and terrible. I'm still amused by the new ways France Televisions is trying to not give money to charities. It was obvious they tried to paint Camille in as favorable a light as possible. I swear she did half the trials. Kudos to her for not bailing out of the bungee jumping.

For any non-French confused by my post, Fort Boyard is a TV game when a team of famous/semi-famous French people do a bunch of trials (physical, intellectual or dexterity-related) to make coins fall in a cage, then grab the coins as fast as possible (there is a limited time) which are "converted" in real money for a charity. It's pretty cool. It's probably more for kids but I watch it every summer.
