Anyone voting in the Hugo Awards this year? If so, are Sad Puppies a factor at all in your decision? I heard somebody yesterday say that because there was so much stuff to read, they were automatically not bothering with anything on the Sad Puppies list.

Am I misunderstanding what Sad Puppies is? Because I was under the impression that it was a group of fairly racist and misogynist people who got tired of all the minorities winning Hugos and decided to support straight, white, male authors. And, I mean, yeah. That's shitty of THEM, but it doesn't really say anything about the authors, other than they're straight, white and male.

Is that enough to discount the virtue of their work? Should they -- as I've also seen mentioned -- be expected to decline their nomination just because this group of awful people picked them to win? Should the Hugos be a platform for minority awards at the exclusion of non-minorities? Or are they even relevant at all anymore?

I'm not sure on any of it, other than yes, there is a massive amount of stuff to get through.

I hate being watched while doing normal things (I don't mean someone glancing at me, or looking at me because we're talking, but just sitting there WATCHING like I'm onstage and they're the audience). It makes me uncomfortable. I don't care if it's because they think I'm cute doing whatever. I don't care if they think I might need help. I don't care if I "don't have to be embarrassed." I don't like it, and I hate it when I tell people to knock it off and they tell me why it's okay and keep doing it.

I hate it when someone asks for opinions, and people give their opinions, and some idiot comes in telling anyone with a negative opinion "there are more important things to worry about" or "it's not THE WORST THING EVER." Well, yeah, there are more important things, but we're giving our opinions on the thing someone asked for opinions on because they asked about it, not because we think it's the worst thing ever or the most important problem ever. Bonus annoying points if the person saying that stuff is the one who originally asked for opinions!

People who insist they KNOW someone's sexual orientation, and the reason they "know" isn't that the person told them or that they know the person is in a relationship with or slept with someone of the same or opposite sex. Stuff like "He wore a purple shirt, he's DEFINITELY gay!!! No question about it!" Extra obnoxious if they then start bullying the person to "admit it" or come out. Mind your own fucking business.

So, my family suspects my sister's husband is cheating on her. My cousin was on FB and found a profile with his picture as the profile picture (their current apartment, they just moved into is the background). In it he was asking for people's kiks, snapchats, etc.

My idiot cousin messaged him and the FB was immediately deleted. BUT he did get a screenshot of the profile before it was deleted (showing his profile picture). We don't know how to precede from her. We think my sister MIGHT suspect because she asked if a keylogger of some sort could be placed on her laptop.

But now we don't know how to proceed. I was thinking adding the keylogger...
