How superficial are you?

For the sake of simplicity, imagine ranking the world into a 1 to 10 scale of attractiveness-to-you. 1 is totally unattractive, 10 is totally attractive, 5 is "average" whatever that means to you. It doesn't matter what the specifics are since they're subjective and different for everyone.

How high on your personal scale would a person have to be in order for you to consider dating or sleeping with them?
How low would they have to be to be instantly out of the running?

Have you ever liked (in a romantic way) someone you met online? And I don't mean in an online dating context, I mean more like playing a game together or in the same guild and then becoming friends, or having the same interests and blogging about it, or bonding over fanfiction and fandom and so on. If you have, did anything ever come of it? Did you ever tell anyone about it? I'm curious about how things like this would go.

What makes someone an "expert"?

Specifically this will be more about historians, but it's just something I've been wondering lately.

I listen to Dan Carlin's podcasts and he calls himself a "fan of history" rather than a historian. He'll often quote from the books of historians but he'll stress that he's not one himself.

I've also been reading a lot of biographies lately and I've noticed that some of the people who write biographies aren't historians -- there's a range of writers: soldiers, journalists, psychologists, some historians. So would they be considered experts?

It's just an odd situation where I feel like being an expert on a particular subject is kind of nebulous.
