Okay: Morrissey, Steven Patrick. Singer, songwriter, now author. He's written well over a hundred songs by now, and maybe 75% of them have lyrics that coyly insinuate (or more) that the first-person POV of the songs is a gay man, and yet for decades he's said things like "unfortunately, i am not homosexual" and denied that his songs were about being gay.

I don't know the man, it's none of my business who he's attracted to, whatever.....but doesn't his long history of writing songs that imply that (at the very least) the frequent POV character of his songs is not straight , count, in the light if his repeated denials, as queerbaiting?

Honestly, this isn't even about Morrissey himself, or his private life. I'm 100% okay with him not being the "I" in his songs -- that "I" could easily be a fictional character. It would just...idk...mean a lot to me if he came out (har har) and said that many of his songs were written with a queer POV.

Basically, I, as a queer person myself, have always related to his songs because they speak to my own experience, and it bothers me that he's always been wishy-washy about what his songs are actually about.

Just wanted to throw this out there and hear your thoughts...
