Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).

I want to move to the city (I live in a pretty quiet, rural area now several hours away from the nearest proper city). Should I ... just do it, or be responsible and find a job first? I feel like it'd be easier to look for and find jobs while I'm there, but it'd be stupid to get an apartment and pay all the moving costs, then never get employed.

It's just hard to find work where I live now and I really need to live somewhere more exciting.

Anyone else impulsively moved before? What's the biggest move you've ever done in your professional life (not as a student, or with your family when you were young)?

Because they are a license to be flat out abusive and bullying to other users without Case shutting the thread down. NOt that I usually need to worry since I just abuse people with unpopular opinions or who want Case to do something different anyway. I can rely, as a named user, on people rushing to support me and dogpile anyone I pick on in regular F!S. In anon posts I can really push the boat out with it and not have to worry about tarnishing my user identity. Thanks Case for letting me be a better bully.

I briefly had a named account which I created specifically for this comm, but I got lazy. Plus, I think I'd suck at handling the bullying/stalkers and I admired basically every named user to just laughs and moves on.

Gender for sure. Mainly because that one troll who keeps bringing up gender wank almost every day, and rad!fem, who is probably the same person. I feel they are deliberately trying to make us react and get tired of it, which has worked tbh

A few times. But then to be fair, when I posted secrets of those fandoms or tried to post anything in GC there was very little reaction.

After a youth of believing I hate science, I'm finally starting to realize I actually... kind of love it.

This has led me to believe that kids are set up to believe they either get it or they don't, which is really a damn shame. If I'd learned it then the way I'm learning it now, I probably would've gotten better grades.

It was either a Harry Potter secret or a secret about the Charlie Brown Musical being stupid because adults played young characters and I thought that was so weird.

... that one was not well-received. In hindsight, it was kind of a stupid sentiment.

I can't say I'm tired of F!S per se... it's literally my only fandom, and my outlet to talk about non-fandom stuff online, too. I don't use any other forums. But I do think there are fewer and fewer of us, and we know each other too well. Any secret or comment, and I can already guess exactly what the reaction would be down to a word. We're not exciting.

I wonder when the newest member joined. I feel like most everybody here has been here for at least like two years or more.

I'd love new blood, to make things more interesting.

writing a WIP

I'm writing my first WIP fanfic (four chapters in). The last five weeks it occupied all my writing mind space, but it is a rather slow-moving story so I'm afraid of burning out on it.

At least there's one brave soul who left me a comment on each chapter, because I'm not getting that many kudos on it.

DC Rebirth Event

Will it make you want to read DC comics again? Assuming you used to and dropped out, if you didn't will it entice you to start?

I actually like the idea of bi-weekly comics, even if it does cancel out the lower cover prices. It is very similar to the Brit model of comics I remember when I was a little kid. More anthology would be nice. However since they just killed JL3001 in the reboot, I won't be jumping on any comic at the start since that was all I had left of theirs that I read. Two steps forward, one step back.

I hadn't heard about this. What's going on? I quit reading when New 52 came out (though I'd been dwindling down before that), and New 52 was sounding like a mixed bag. (I was a Green Lantern, Robin, JLA fan back when, but mostly because I couldn't afford to keep up with anything more than that.)

Fandom Fests bring out the worst in people

Leave me alone. Please. Dear god. I've never run a fest before. And now I'm regretting volunteering to run our March thing. Because there are some anons in this fandom who are just really rude. They keep messaging me, demanding I do things the way they want. One person really wants porn and thinks non-porn likers don't contribute to the fandom. Another person really doesn't want porn and thinks that having even a bit of it is awful and that porn is ruining the fandom. I put up a poll voting on theme. Morbid March won out, but prompt fest was a pretty close second. So I'm doing both so there is something for everyone. Some people are offended by this, either way.

I'm really trying to be nice and reply politely to everyone. But honestly I just want to tell them all to go away and leave me alone.
