High heals on female cops. It actually didn't bother me in Jurassic World because that character wasn't expecting action, so it made sense for her not to have flats with her. Cops, though? No.

It amuses but puzzles me that in AU versions of a character, they have glasses to show how downtrodden they are now. Or, conversely, if a character becomes badass, they lose the glasses.

Like, I didn't know being badass/miserable controlled your vision...

(Yes, I understand it's an artistic choice.)

I can mostly handwave the timing issue in csi-type shows but some of the leaps of logic and the magic-science are too much for me to suspend my disbelief.

Purist annoyances

Let's face it: even if you don't like to act in a purist way about adaptations vs source material, and are good at appreciating adaptations on their own merits in a vacuum, there are bound to be SOME occasions where you see an adaptation do something that makes no sense, or completely flies in the face of something established in the source material, and it makes you go "but that's just *wrong*!!"

What are some examples of this for you? The pettier/sillier the better!

Inspired by the sudden memory of my aforementioned boarding school's secret paper that filled us in on administrative and financial dealings that weren't widely known. Started because of drama over kids being expelled or punished unfairly, and kept alive by the drama of high school and the intrigue of stuffy old (200+ years old in fact) institutions handling things poorly. I don't know if it's still going, but I believe one of the major contributors now works at People magazine.

Anyways, reading that I always felt like such a secret rebel. Tell me when you did!

a couple months back my SO had a big fight with her family about something and now isn't speaking to most of them anymore, but never told me why. When I asked her if she wanted to talk about it after it happened, she said no. I asked her a couple more times over the next week, but she always said she didn't want to talk about it, so I let it drop. She mentions never seeing her grandmother again occasionally (though some of her other family seem to be back on speaking terms with her?), but never elaborates on the incident

Idk why it bothers me not knowing, but it does. I am really paranoid the fight was about me, or her sexuality (we're both women), but I really have no idea. Is there a way I can ask now, months out? Or should I just resign myself to never knowing?

I was able to reschedule my routine doctor's appointment from next Wednesday to this Wednesday so I could get my itchy hands looked at but it was at 9 a.m. (not part of my normal awake schedule) and I somehow slept through all my alarms, not waking up until 9:10, and they gave my appointment away. Now it's next Thursday before they can see me.

I'm tI'm hinking about hitting up a walk-in clinic and just eating the extra copay, but because they're not unbearably itchy right now, I've convinced myself that I'm going to get there and waste everybody's time (and my money) just to be told it's nothing but allergies or just really dry skin my or indoor cat somehow got fleas I've never seen, IDK.
