I'm trying to save money this winter. I read that during the day, the heater should be at 68 degrees, when you're sleeping at 65 degrees. Is this a standard practice that most people do to save money? Do you still feel comfortable in the house?

1. Am I the only one who doesn't have any interest in other people's home improvement/gardening feats? I swear the older I get, the more and more people I know are moving into new homes and gardening and things like that - which is cool except they expect me to care what shade of pink their wallpaper will be. Is it that I haven't really owned a place (so can't relate to wallpaper or gardening or anything), or are most people disinterested, just better at faking it?

2. Either way, how do you feign interest, OR tactfully bring the conversation to something more relatable without talking over the person?

Fanfic Problems

So I'm in a writing class this year, and I submitted a retooled fanfic as my story because I couldn't think of any ideas to write about. The canon is set in a modern day office, but the fic I submitted was a medieval times/time travel AU with the names changed too. Still, I keep feeling like I'm going to be expelled for plagiarism every time I go to class.

Anyone else been in this position before?

If you went to university, or are still going, do you feel you had or are having a "true" experience? Do you think one exists? Any regrets? (Besides loans and jobs afterwards. That goes without saying for many, sadly!)

I am, like... militantly against the idea of caring about a "true" experience with stuff like university, or whatever. I used to care about things like that when I was younger and it only ever makes me miserable and anxious. I think you should enjoy your experience, whatever it's like, as much as you can. Trying to compare it to some artificial yardstick, which is probably some half-received nonsensical ideas from movies and TV anyway, doesn't make anything better. It just makes me constantly worry about every single aspect of what's going on, and constantly obsessed with checking things off a list before time runs out.

That's how I feel about it personally.

Yay! So excited and a bit nervous and I don't know why because it's completely normal and lots of people have them, but still. I've been considering getting a vibrator for ages now, but a few days ago I suddenly decided that YES now is the time. Hate to admit it but it was partly because of a Buzzfeed article about cheap vibrators. It made choosing one waaaay easier than just setting out on my own. Though of course the one I wanted didn't ship to my country. Ugh. Still, I'm happy with my final choice. It's very shiny. Hopefully it's not just pretty but also good at its job.

After two weeks on antibiotics, Sharif's nose is all cleared up. No more blood! I'm beyond relieved. I've had that boy for more than 18 years and I hate to see him sick or in pain. He's just too pretty to suffer! Anyway, I want to thank everyone who sent encouraging comments and advice while he was sick. You all rock!

My brother and i attempted a livestream of me playing Anmesia, but I had to quit early because for what ever reason the more I played the game the more I felt sick and queasy.

Did anyone else have that reaction? I'm trying to understand why I did, I think it had to do with the view that would get all weirdly distorted and the shaking. It wasn't even fear that made me quit I don't think I got to anything really scary.

Ignorant comments on health issues

The usual "just don't be sad" when someone suffers from depressions, "just take a simple painkiller" for chronic pain or intense migraine attacks, you know the stuff.

Which have you gotten yourself? Which annoy you the most? Did you accidentally make an ignorant comment like this in the past?
