I know, f!s, it's an inflammatory topic, so I'm sorry beforehand for the wank that may ensue.

But I just calculated that the total price of my electronic library is something around 10k pounds.

No way I would be able to afford this. Almost everything that lies there is pirated. IDK if I should feel ashamed, but it wouldn't be possible for me to read that much without downloading stuff illegally.

(and I never pirate software and not that much into films. Only literature)

Over the last year a casual fandom friend became an unexpected source of support while dealing with some rl issues and we grew a lot closer than I would've ever thought we would. I'm in a much better place now and wanted to thank her in a special way by doing some artwork for one of her fics. We only share one fandom and I didn't find anything that inspired me so I was checking out her other works in fandoms I'm uninterested in and found that her newest and most popular fic's plot, which has received almost three times the comments and kudos of her previous work, is heavily reliant on the situations and issues I shared with her in confidence. In some places she even quotes things I said verbatim and not just loosely paraphrased.

I'm not directly referenced anywhere, I thoroughly checked all the comments as well, and there's nothing that would really make people connect anything to me but I still feel mortified and betrayed. She never mentioned anything like this to me which might be because we don't really talk about our fandoms the other isn't interested in. Is this as big a deal as I think it is? Should I ask her about it or chalk it up to an artist drawing on real life inspiration? I don't have any reason to believe she's directly told anyone about what I'm dealing with or what I said.

I got suckered into rescuing a dog for the holidays (again, major holidays always means rescuing some animal or another), and, while I've been in contact with the dog's owners, they were supposed to come get him today.

It's now dark out, and the roads are more or less closed due to inclement weather.

Which means I'll have this little dog for at least another day.

And he keeps pooping and peeing on my (berber carpeted) floor. And chewed up stuff. I could keep him in a kennel, but he screams like he's being murdered. For hours (which also has made it difficult to sleep at night). I had him on a leash attached to my waist, and he chewed the leash apart when I took my eyes off him for literally two minutes. I'm not going to put one of my dogs' leashes on him for fear I then won't be able to walk my own dogs.

Yeah, that 'no good deed goes unpunished' thing is laughing at me. Again.

Today I've been reading the ughsherlockfandom tumblr blog and I suddenly figured that almost nothing there weirds me out. I got used to all kinds of queer shit. I accept almost everything.

Hobbit/Sherlock xovers? Fine.

Sherlock RPF? Fine.

Hedgehog pics? Fine.

Messy Johnlock porn with oranges, Moriarty and a giant chimpanzee? Fine.

I don't do this kind of stuff myself, and I do think that people who post hedgehog pics are somewhat silly, but I literally see nothing wrong with those things.
Furthermore, I participate in a fandom whose canon is heavily based on real events and contains real life people, albeit the dead ones (it is therefore technically already RP fanfiction). I also like Monty Python RPF, which is even worse, because Pythons are all alive, safe for Graham Chapman.

I do sometimes write shameless, even somewhat OOC, hurt/comfort AND post it, because I know how it feels to look for something of this kind and only see adventure fic without any actual relationships at all. It's like looking for heavy porn and keep bumping into works with kissing eight-year-olds.

And, to crown all of the above, I told my English teacher and my class that I write fanfiction. Aye, well, all my stories are pretty harmless, no smut, even no shipping, but I still want to hide under the table and never go back. I wouldn't do it if I would've been completely adequate that day, tbh - I was slightly drunk with insomnia, that might be why I did what I did.

tl;dr: I've read a tumblr blod moking inadequate fans and now I'm freaking out wildly that I may be a creep. Silly anon is silly.

Stray animals!

One of my parents brought this stray cat in and he's pretty much spent the day snuggling with me. All he wants is affections and cuddles I cannot comprehend this cat.
It's really too bad we can't keep him, though. We're advertising around if anyone wants him and if not we're taking him to the shelter where he'll probably be adopted quickly.

It won't make you bulimic if it's an exception and not a rule, I think.

But I wouldn't advise on doing that, tbh.

And why would you prefer throwing up to being slightly sick? Is it that bad? Because vomiting is pretty much the worst physiological experience in my entire life. I can't imagine anyone doing it willingly (if they're not poisoned, of course, or do it for other medical reasons).

fandom-related dreams

i've had fandom-related dreams before, but they were mostly silly and tame. like i had a dream about burn notice where i was part of the team with michael, fiona, and sam kicking ass, taking names & plotting schemes to get information from the bad guy of the week. and last night i had a dream about arrested development where michael had to teach a class of young elementary age children then went to buy a car but was denied because he didn't finish college. weird, i know.

I dream about Community all the time, probably I think because I'm actually in college. My dreams are boring though, I put on like a school pageant with the characters or something or we just hang out and eat lunch. I always wake up with the vague feeling of adventure too but I can never remember what we did.

The other day my least favorite ex-boyfriend and I both went to school there? Which was odd, dreaming about something I like and something I hate simultaneously.

As a child I was utterly convinced that Alan Tracy would one day come to my door and rescue me.

It didn't seem to matter that he was a marionette, I knew he was coming, and that he'd marry me and keep me safe.

He never came, but believing he would really got me through some tough times. Thank you Mr Anderson. Rest in peace.
