Job hunting is frustrating as hell.

I've been trying to get a job for the past six months - since January. I've filled out literally over a hundred applications by this point, and in that time I've gotten ONE interview, which I thought went well, but then they never called me back. Maybe it would be a little less frustrating if I didn't feel like I was throwing my applications into a giant hole, never to be seen again. It's gotten to the point where I'm grateful for form e-mails saying "thanks, but no thanks" because at least I got SOMETHING in response.

Not really a unique situation, I know, but I just needed to vent for a bit.

What do you feel guilty about?

I submitted a secret about wanting to play MTG, and discovered Duel's of the Planeswalkers thanks to you guys. I got a beginner's white/green deck, only to find it wasn't entirely what I wanted, and that the city I am in doesn't have ANYWHERE that hosts tournaments! I have managed to play with a friend, who generously gave me a bunch of black cards since I think a green/black deck would suit me more. Yes, I should probably learn more before trying to build my own deck, but I didn't like the white cards at all and when my friend showed me the black cards she had for trade I was basically thinking "I can use this, and this, and this." I think the deck I built was solid, there were a few times my friend was completely unable to do anything while I was free to attack however I wanted. But maybe I was just luckier.

So, uh, what sort of decks do you guys have and any interesting MTG stories? I am also interested in knowing if you guys use it as a way of RPing, and have ideas of how you would look as a wizard using those spells.

Hi, are there other biology/population genetics/selective breeding that would help me with this bit of weird science nerdiness?

I just finished reading a books series that has the worst tangled family tree I've seen in fiction for a long time--I think it evens beats the Flowers in the Attic stuff in squickiness.

(In the books, there are lots of Brainwashed and Crazy stuff to set all of this in motion, but the results are--)
A man rapes his daughter and fathers a girl on her. The girl grows up, gets married off, bears twin boys; after what he finds her and rapes her too, producing another girl. And once they're adults, one of the boys and his half-sister/half-omgisthereevenawordforthis, mate...

So. I tried to calculate to coefficient of inbreeding for the resulting offspring and I found it to be 0.34375. Trying to check my answer here, anyone agrees/disagrees with this figure?

Not sure if there is anyone around, but I need advice.

So, I've had no luck looking for an apartment. But an old friend has a room free in her apartment. It would be $500 a month, which is half of what most apartments in my area cost. And she's a kind of messy person like me, and we get along well.

The problem is she has a cat. And I'm very allergic. But the lower rent would allow me to be able to pay to get allergy shots. And I haven't found anywhere else.

So what do you guys think? Should I do it?
