When I was in middle school I once forgot to put on a new pair of underwear while I was changing for school in the morning (it was a miserable few years and I was unbelievably spacey in the morning) and by the time I got to gym I had completely forgotten that I wasn't wearing any so I started changing in front of the other girls just like always, and they noticed. Somehow it got back to school officials and I was called to the dean for a lecture on how I needed to wear underwear.

In first grade a wore a slip to school as a skirt. I had no idea it wasn't a skirt because I wore it at home all the time. But clearly it was obvious to everyone else because I got made fun of by everyone, got yelled at by my teacher, and got sent home to change.

There are lots more, but that's the one that comes to mind right now.

That time I tripped crossing a street in front of like....6 lanes of traffic. None of those people knew me but ugh.

The worst thing I can think of was when I was tricked into going snipe hunting. We never actually did that actual hunting. I just remember being really excited about it because it was older cousins who wanted to take me. And I knew snipes were real (I had seen them).

My dad eventually had to tell me it wasn't real because I was super excited about hanging out with my cousins. I remember crying because I was so embarrassed.

Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended by the BBC (http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-31824040) for a "fracas" with one of the beeb's producers. Apparently he threw a punch and missed. After all the other racist bullshit he's pulled, it's almost hitting a producer that gets him suspended? But it has happened and i couldn't be happier--means the three remaining eps of TG for this season won't air until things have been settled...but maybe Clarkson will finally realise he's not untouchable? Then again, maybe he won't.

And his fans on tumblr have already made graphics (save Jezza) and started a fucking petition to get him reinstated. OMG people, he's been suspended not fucking fired. I fully support the BBC's decision. They should've done it sooner.

Problematic academic disciplines

I've been seeing Sociology v. Anthropology stuff on Tumblr for a while, praising Sociology and condemning Anthropology usually because of terms used and various social, cultural, etc constructs.

What do you all think? Or maybe what are some academic fields that are praised while others called out? Not to say these fields shouldn't be viewed critically.

Pronouns amoung assholes

So I work with some people who are typical insensitive assholes. You know the type. Gay jokes, Girly girls, tough macho men types. The type who think things gay people are out of the ordinary.

I also have a partner who is non-gender binary. I'm comfortable using zer pronouns when we're alone or when zhe is present or online and stuff, but I don't quite know how to deal with this at work when they ask me about my partner. They assume "him" and so far I've been taking the cowards way out by avoiding using zer preferred pronouns "Oh, yeah, my partner thinks....", but this makes me very uncomfortable and feels like I'm being dishonest and disloyal.

This is a betrayal, right? I know they wont understand, and I don't want to get mocked, but I don't want to keep doing what I'm doing. What can I really do though?

Apparently the Irish screwed up their drug's legislation so badly that it had to be thrown out by a court entirely, leaving them with no laws against hallucinogenic substances. They can't fix it until Thursday either, even with emergency legislation. So if you wanna get high legally, head to Belfast or Dublin or Londonderry or Cork, or Ballykissangel or where ever the people wear green and eat potatoes for breakfast.

I don't have someone whose style I love entirely, but I noticed a lot of what I like (which, admittedly, isn't much - I'm so picky! If I could make my own clothes, I would 100%) are things Ariana Grande wears.

Not a fan of when she pulls out the Lolita aesthetic, but I love all of the black and lace that she sports. And some of the 60s stuff too, as long as there's no colour.

Getting into bicycling

Hey f!sers. Long story short, I'd like to get into bicycling but I'm not sure where to start. The last time I tried, it was actually painful for my, eh, intimate area but the bike I'd tried was for a man about nine inches taller than me. My inseam is 27 inches (height 61 inches). Any bicycle buying advice for someone short like me? I'm not rich.

USPS help/advice

So I have a package that I'm thinking was lost. It's now two days late from the expected arrival date, and the tracking page hasn't been updated since it left the state it was sent from, five days ago. Normally I would think the post office is just slow and it'll come in a couple days, because I know the "expected arrival date" isn't actually guaranteed, but I order stuff online constantly and I've never had a situation where the tracking wasn't updated in five days so it's worrying me. I attempted calling the USPS customer service phone number but was on hold for almost half an hour before finally hanging up. I ended up emailing the store about it and will hopefully hear back from them tomorrow, but is there anything else you guys would recommend I do? I would hate to lose the money I spent. :(
