I can't find a dubbed torrent of this in blu ray quality on any of my usual sites. My country blocks pirate bay and a few of the bigger torrent sites so that's no good either. Please help me commit this cool crime.

I know I'm probably the only person playing this as it's kind of obscure outside of PC gaming circles (especially given that it's rooted in old school cRPG culture) and of course everyone's tired of zombies, but I've been neck-deep in this thing for two weeks and I wanna talk about it.

Ultimately it's sort of an RPG/squad strategy/survival sim hybrid? Or to put it another way, it's XCOM with zombies instead of aliens. You're stuck in a small town school in central Texas and it's your job to keep the place running -- that means maintaining the shelter's defenses, building amenities and facilities, and getting food and supplies and fuel to keep the generator running. Combat is turn-based and you'll face zombies (and lots of) but also plenty of armed living people who want to kill you, steal your stuff, and wear your skin for underwear. You don't gain experience by whacking enemies, but by performing goals like bringing back X pounds of food, Y amount of luxury items, crossing items off your to-do list, etc. You have a big map to explore and plenty of locations to find and loot, lots of survivors to bring back to your shelter, and the occasional crisis situation where you have to make big decisions.

There's a couple flaws, though. First, it's a bit buggy (lasting legacy of the game's long early access period) and the combat sequences can be interminable, especially if there's a lot of enemies (which in turn actually causes the game to momentarily freeze.) Second, the plot is time-based rather than player progression-based -- in other words, you're stuck here for 100 in-game days whether you like it or not. Third, there's a lot of mechanics that simply aren't explained very well to you -- like I had no idea I could switch between on-foot and horseback and car until I looked it up and then I realized they were options on the map. I was wondering why I couldn't take my horses out. And fourth, well... it's all a bit done before, isn't it? It hits all the notes -- big cast of characters, all of them arguing with each other and making alliances, the zombies are less of a threat compared to other human beings, lots of poignant tropes such as the infected spouse, etc. etc. etc. -- I've seen this movie before. We all have.

I like it anyway though. It's a lot better now after the Reanimated megapatch, too, but there's still some things I'd like to see.

It's basically summing up the results of a long-term survey on couples in Australia and their satisfaction with their relationships. A few results I found particularly interesting - agreeable men are less happy in relationships with non-agreeable women, but non-agreeable women are more happy in those relationships. Similarly, both introverted and extroverted men are more happy in relationships with extroverted women, but extroverted women are less happy in relationships with introverted men. People are weird.

I don't know, just some interesting stuff.

Suprisingly Well Reviewed Movies?

I wanted to watch a Ryan Reynolds movie so I hopped on rottentomatoes.com to pick one to watch. I was flabbergasted to see that the movie The Voices had such positive reviews (a 71% on RT). I have not watched it (I watched Amityville Horror first) but I plan on watching it tonight.

This isn't the first time I've been surprised by how well a movie reviewed so I expect others have experienced this. What are some movies that you were surprised to find out actually got good critical reviews?
