Mom in surgery tomorrow

So my mom was in a car accident a couple weeks ago and I flew out to help take care over her until she recovers (hence my reduced f!s participation). Most of it should heal fine, but she needs surgery for her collarbone which she's getting tomorrow. I'm just praying to God that everything goes okay for both her and for me, since right now I am literally her 24/7 personal assistant and the whole situation's been rather stressful for both of us.

It's my sister's birthday next week and we are going to go to a bar after dinner. I have never been to one, and I dislike beer and wine (I do like Irish coffee, tho) so I have almost no experience with alcohol.
I'd like to have just one drink, what would you recommend that won't affect me at all? The thought of being drunk scares me :(

...you know that, no matter what your show does for its finale, you're not going to be satisfied? You really want it to be awesome, but you know there's no way they're going to fix the messes they made with the rest of the season.

This is how I feel about Young Justice and tomorrow.

[Spoilers] No matter what they do with the all female characters they've utterly neglected, it will be to little, too late. No matter what they do about Darkseid, it's either he's not there and all the buildup was for nothing, or he is there and he's going to get defeated in a single episode by the off-brand Teen Titans. No matter what the plot is, it's bound to fall into the same dartboard-type writing BSG got into, only with everyone claiming, "No, it was actually MY plan all along!" instead of Cylons. I really wanted this show to be good, and I'm going to stick it out to the end, but... gah.

Similar experiences, anyone?

Star Trek (2009) Fics

I finally watched the new Star Trek movie (it only took 4 years). I was going to hop into some fanfic but the only character I really like so far is McCoy (Bones). Soooo can anyone rec me some good Bones-centric fics or comms? Gen or Any pairings. Any ratings are fine. I would love Hurt/Comfort, angst, De-Aging, or kid fic.

Or any super good fics of the other characters, but right now I am just into McCoy, but maybe you can change my mind.

So, I just started watching Game of Thrones after making it up to nearly the end of A Feast For Crows. I'm on season 1 episode 5 now.

What the fuck? So far I'm not feeling any of the love that everyone apparently has for this show. The reason I even decided to read the books in the first place was because now there was this "amazing" series that I "had to watch" and I'm the type of person who can't watch a movie without having read the source material first (unless I didn't realize it was based on a novel or something).

Does it start getting better or something? Advise me, anons.
