I agree with you, though I've only read Adair's revised edition of the book, which is supposed to be more like Bertolucci's film. I love both, but I guess I always loved the UST between the two men. It reminds me a lot of Little Ashes, where Lorca and Dali use a female friend as a sexual conduit because they don't feel they can sleep with one another.

James May is probably not the way he appears on television.

I often think they avoid showing his more stubborn side. He seems like he'd be really against a lot of things you probably do (for example, fandom).

I like cars, but I totally do this as well. Man, that Vietnam special made me yearn to go there. I also love the filming techniques they use (it's all pretty, okay?) and a lot of the music. I love discovering new music through Top Gear!

I think the writers being terrible is kind of a bigger problem. I mean, Cuddy was there at the beginning when the show was 'good'. That the writers started writing shitty stories involving her isn't really the character's fault.
