I almost had a political discussion with my dad ( which I don't do because he's kind of crazy and one time he said he hoped someone killed the entire Obama family, including Malia and Sasha, and it was like I didn't know him because, jfc, that's awful).

But, I told him I didn't really have an opinion on the issue because my opinion doesn't matter anyway. Which is the truth, but kind of a shitty way to think because you should care about things.

Is this the way other people think? That there is no point in having an real opinion on serious matters that you can't do anything about?

How do you visualize characters differently from their movie portrayals?

So today at work I was looking up something online and saw where there had been another school shooting. I mentioned it to a coworker, and a customer who was there with her (elementary school aged) kid bitched me out because how dare I mention such a thing in front of her kid. The same woman has lectured me in the past because I jokingly made a reference to a ghost and her kid was in the same room.

If she wants to shelter her kid from the world, that's her choice. I think it's idiotic, but it's her right. But she can't go around telling the rest of society how they're allowed to behave and what they're allowed to say in front of her precious snowflake.

And my boss is apparently the last person in the world to have a "the customer is always right" attitude so I couldn't have told her off and kept my job, but it was fucking frustrating.

This woman is difficult and incredibly entitled in general (her kid is a total brat but the mother believes her little angel is perfect and would never do anything wrong) but today just really pissed me off.

Grrr.
