You have a time frame of an hour to get somewhere. If you call a taxi at the start of that hour and they say they're going to show within 5 - 10 minutes, but it's already 45 minutes of a no show. Would you cancel your plans or stick around?

Supposedly it's by a Christian mom who's rewriting HP because her kids aren't allowed to read about witchcraft (she doesn't want them to become witches, you see). I'm pretty sure that it has to be a troll, because some of the remarks/dialogue about religion and such is just SO on-point, but.....maybe it's not?? So I just wanted to get all y'all's opinion about this.

Sorry, the fic is pretty poorly written (unclear if that was intentional) - I do not think you understand what "retort" means...

About a million years ago, I read a comic at the library that I'm pretty sure featured batman and superman. It was some pretty epic bromance shit where one of them was mind controlled or something and the other snapped them out of it with the power of their friendship or something like that. Maybe it was on Apokolypse??

It wasn't in the Superman/Batman series, I know, because I have all of those. Anyone know what book this was?

And while I'm at it, any comic recommendations? I like superheroes and hate grim and gritty bullwhip.

I am an adult. I have been to college. Yet, I fail at simple tasks adults should be able to do. I am terrible at using a knife and fork to cut meat! It is like my hands just don't understand how they need to hold the utensils (or how to keep the damn plate from moving all over the place).

I am also terrible at using lighters. But that stems from trying to use one one as a kid and burning myself. Been scared of them fuckers ever since.

I read a newsletter about romance novels and they posted a review of a book of bisexual short stories. The blogger put in an excerpt from one that I swear is a Due South fic with the names changed.

“So.The Mountie. Something queer about him?” I say finally, careful of my wording. It’s hard to ask when the rule is “don’t.” As in “Don’t ask. Don’t tell.”

Grandy harrumphs. Won’t meet my eyes directly either. He’s probably wondering about the two holes in my left earlobe. “Well, I think I can say for pretty sure that he’s…” Grandy pauses, searches for the right word, then does meet my eyes, “…Canadian. You don’t have a problem with... Canadians, do you?”

“No sir. Got a cousin who’s... Canadian. Not a problem.” I fail to mention I’ve...been to Canada a few times myself since splitting with the ex-wife.

If it is, good for the author, nice job. But it's killing me because I can't figure out which fic it is.

I have to finish this stupid goddamn literature review. (Because I'm totally going to be reviewing literature for my day job once I pass this degree, hahahah!)

I'm SO CLOSE to finishing. I've just got to add some reference and write the introduction and conclusion. I've spent three days on it. It's due in five hours.

But it's an incoherent mess. I don't even think it answers the question. Just disconnected paragraphs. FUCK.

How do I fix it?

Supernatural season 9

I was at the Used Media store today and happened to see season 9 of Supernatural. So now I've got a gap between 5 and 9 to fill. I was going to just wait for it to be streaming, but unlike apparently a lot of people, I've actually enjoyed these latter seasons, mostly.

Though, I have to say, I do think post S9-premiere, I finally really get why so many people are bothered by the constant round of "I won't let you die/stay dead," "I won't tell you some big secret," and what I can only assume will be more Sam Winchester Guilt Complex-ing (because I'm sure something will happen that leaves Sam wracked with "must atone for my evil sins" guilt).

But I'm really interested in the Castiel story. I'm a little disappointed that Tahmoh Penikett was dispatched of so quickly (assuming he's not back at some point), and I'm not sure how I feel about Ezekiel...running in Sam's background, as it were. Mainly because I'd like to see more of him. And is it just me or does Jared Padalecki get all the fun when it comes to being different characters? He got to be Ezekiel, he got to be Lucifer, He got to be Meg. He (very briefly) got to be a stupid teenager ordering a banana daquiri and being a dork about having "the sex." You could even make a case for Soulless Sam being a pretty new character.

And poor Jensen Ackles just gets to be old tortured Dean. Well. I was inadvertently spoiled for a certain S9 thing though, so maybe he'll get to play a little. I don't really know anything about this thing other than it happens. I wonder if I can binge watch this season and be ready to go for season 10. And then how badly The CW's website will make me want to kill something.
