I'm the opposite. I loved that the interns got more screentime - especially Keith and Denise/Jo.
Sure I love the main characters, but I like to have a little variety so things don't get too boring.

So true. The only thing I don't like about him is that the maleShep's voice actor isn't as good as Jennifer Hale. Still it's 'your' character.

I think all kick-ass OCs get accused of being self-inserts and whatnot until proved otherwise, regardless of fandom. Any time the main focus is off the characters from the show it raises suspicions. After all, there are few things worse than reading a couple chapters into what you think will be a great story only to suddenly realize that the OC -is- a mary-sue, self-insert, or other fanfic boogieman.

I read a ton of crossovers and readers don't seem to be bothered by a female crossover character coming in to kick-ass in the SPN 'verse. I think readers have just been burned by Ocs too many times and we're gun-shy now.
