I just got back to university this week and there is this girl in my year who seems to have lost a lot of weight. I mean she used to be pretty thin to start of with but now she looks scary thin. Also it is pretty warm outside but she was wearing sweater and a scarf. And finally the few conversations I can remember having with her all seemed to centre around her wanting to lose weight.

Am I overreacting or is there really something wrong with her?

And can I do something about this? I really don't know her that well.

I used to watch Dungeons & Dragons (the cartoon) way back. I always had fond memories of it, thought it was good and then I rewatched it a couple of years ago. I can’t tell if it was nostalgia, if I had built it up in my mind, or if it was just lack of judgment.

So the thread about "respectable jobs" made me wonder about this. Back when I was getting a degree in English, everybody said, "what are you going to do with that?" Now I work in publishing (which is definitely related to my degree) doing web design stuff (which isn't so much), and I really like it. Do you have a job that relates to what you studied in school? Do you want one?

I'm one of those people who sort of defines themselves around and with the jobs they take. For me, I love working, and I want what I do to be a part of who I am. I've built up lots of peripheral skills over the years to contribute toward the field I want to get into.

I realize this isn't for everyone, but I'd like to ask, does anyone else out there do this? And if you've ever had a crisis moment, asking yourself, "Oh God am I really right in doing this?" What do you say to yourself/how do you deal with that crisis?

So I'm doing a Masters next year, but I'm kind of scared to? Everyone is all "what do you plan to do with it?" and I'm, well, I don't know. I just think it would be awesome to work in the area, but I don't have a specific job in mind.

Is this normal? I kind of resent how I'm just expected to know EXACTLY what job I want to do in 2-3 years time when I graduate. Why is it so bad to go "animal genetics, maybe with cows"? I'm quite content to go with whatever job takes me.
Having a specific job in mind just seems like it will lead to disappointment.

tl;dr I wish my friends will stop going "well what do you plan to use the masters for?" because it makes me second guess doing the masters without job goal #1 in mind

My brother just failed his driving test. I know I should be sad/supporting, but all I can think is HELL YEAH!

Out of everyone in my family, my younger brother was the one my parents thought would pass the driving test easy peasy, and that I'm going to fail miserably.

Well, I haven't taken it yet, so I still might fail, but my younger brother did to, so I don't feel so bad about it.

I imagine I'm not the only one who does this because, well people on the Internet saying "Am I the ONLY special snowflake that does X thing?" are kind of stupid xD But I wonder how prevalent this is.

I have this stories in my head, but I don't write them, I *live them*. And I'm not in them. Geez, this is confusing and so difficult to explain (and English is not my first language, to top it all off)
I have this characters, and every time I have quiet time (say before sleeping, while bathing, on the bus) I keep thinking parts of their stories together. They are not linear, and the parts I particularly like I repeat many times.
There are 3 couples, two in one story and one in another (and they have kids). I find it weird when people ask what do you do before sleeping or say they think about their day, because for me I never go to sleep "as myself", it's always as one of the couples (maybe it has to do with me being a cuddler who never had anybody to sleep with xD)
I mean, I know they are not real, and it's not like they are alive in my head or something like that, they are stories. But I wonder how fucked up is that I spend every single quiet moment making them up. I started when I was 8 I think (different stories, of course) and once I wanted to stop so I forced myself to go to sleep thinking about my day or counting sheep or whatever and started having trouble sleeping! So I eventually went back to them.

As a bonus, all the stories are kind of fucked up, I really like to make these poor characters suffer xD
Most of them are male (only one female in one of the main couples) and mentally ill. I wonder what that says about me :/ I try hard to avoid this "clichés" and I end up changing something that makes them fit into them again xD

For the longest time I shrugged that show off/ignored it when I saw the ads for it, or the woman in TV commercials, but the most recent one...I now despise this woman beyond belief. It's one thing to dupe adults into thinking you're seeing their dead loved ones, whatever, but a fucking child? Your ego is so large that you'd go that low? I feel so bad for the little boy, crying in the ad. I hope it's fake/staged, because for fucks sake. That's just vile. :/

Random blood giving rant

If you are capable of giving blood and your excuse for not doing so is stupid I judge you so much.

If you have a problem with needles or live in a place with stupid regulations that don't allow you to, then it's okay. But if you are too lazy or self absorbed for it it's not!

Same thing for my friend whom I was talking about bone marrow donations (which you don't have to do if there isn't a match, so it MAY be a one time deal -well, technically you can donate more than once, but I doubt you would be lucky enough to be a match twice or more-) and replied "Why would I want to do that?! It's silly" Fuck you so much.

Reason of the rant: I have had anemia all my life, despite taking iron supplements and eating meat and the like, and unless I magically get over it can't donate blood or bone marrow ever :(

Shitty... Subtitle stream?

Okay guys. So I've been asked about this both in the stream and in pms, and thought about it, and made my decision.

I set rules for the shit stream when I created it. Most of the rules can be summed up as "it must be at least this crappy in x category"

now, shitty subtitles? They go over good movies sometimes. So no, Im sorry... can't do it.

So... what day should the new shitty subtitle stream I'll run seperate be? Fridays?
