Ok. Last week, I was taking a bath and as I was getting out, I slipped a bit and grabbed the handle that’s on the soap dish, cause, you know, that’s what the HANDLE IS FOR (maintenance guy tried to tell me it wasn’t. bullshit), to steady/catch myself so I didn’t get hurt, and guess what happened?

The soap dish, plus 4 tiles came off the wall. It came of easy and the tiles came off smoothly.

I got to looking at the damage and the wall was wet underneath, there was hardly any adhesive on the tiles and soap dish and the rest of the wall was kind of bowed due to only holding on by the caulking between the tiles.

WE had no idea that our wall was that damaged. Sure, there’s little cracks in the caulk, like you’d find in any bathroom and we really should have said something about that in the beginning, but it wasn’t really a worry. THAT is our fault.

What is NOT our fault is that maintenance, when working over a FEW WEEKS, to get our apartment ready for us, didn’t bother to check the walls in the bathroom for any issues and the like.

We’re BOTH at fault for that.

So, they are gonna try and charge us for the damage they’ll have to fix which can cost anywhere between $200-$1000.

What. The. Fuck.

It was a simple accident cause I didn’t want to get hurt, YOU didn’t bother making sure the apartment was livable before we even moved in, and now WE will most likely have to eat the cost?

Fuck you.

I thought this place was ok, But maintenance has been slow to respond and now we’re finding out the apartment is slowly falling apart, which will be placed on us. I mean hell even had we said anything about the small cracks in the caulking on the bathroom wall, all they’d have done was fill it in and be done. And we’d STILL be in this situation cause we have no idea how LONG that wall could have been damaged underneath.

Fuck this place.

So my contract is up, and I can pick out a new phone! The question is, do I wait for Verizon to release the HTC One, do I get the iPhone 4S/5, HTC DNA, or the Nexus 4? What phone do you guys have and how do you feel about it? What have you heard about other phones? Just looking for some personal experiences here. Thanks! :)

My mother just got diagnosed with lymphoma, and when she asked for a prognosis or survival rate for treatment, the answer was basically 'not great,' and she already needed a new liver because she drowned the first in vodka. I live with her and am more or less dependent on her, and feel shitty that I can't be more of a help in getting her to the doctor, or with anything else, since I'm awful at being an adult. Her car recently crapped out on her, and I can't imagine she'd be able to drive herself to and from chemo appointments anyway. I've taken her on the bus a few times, but, again, chemo's probably going to make that basically torture since it requires a lot of walking. Her only other relative lives hundreds of miles away. I'm hoping I can help her get access to a hospital shuttle or something.

Between her drinking and her depression, she's got no friends to speak of, and we're a codependent mess that lean on each other for emotional support that we're not very good at giving. On top of worrying about her, I'm panicking about myself, which makes me feel guilty for being a selfish shit. It's not as though I'll be completely without resources when she dies; hell, she's leaving me her house, even if it's disintegrating because neither of us has the money or skill to fix it. I'm one of those sad sacks that panics about making phone calls and hides when people knock at the door. I'm thirty years old, have no friends, no degree, an hourly position without benefits, no health or dental insurance, a family history of schizophrenia, and a predilection for hoarding. I don't have a driver's license, despite over a decade of trying. And I don't know if I'm ready for a crash course in being an adult. I lived through my dad's death, but I'd been acting like he was dead for years before then because he was such an asshole. I'll actually miss my mother because she's a good person.

Sorry for spamming the GC, I just needed to vent and don't even have any social media accounts to do this sort of thing on. I guess I should set one up, to have something to do other than the stuff that I have to deal with whether I want to or not. Maybe I'll even make a friend. Or maybe I'll just be shouting into the void, but at least I won't be Debbie-Downering all over this place.

Idk I know I should be grateful for being employed at all, but damn I hate my job so much right now. The only thing that motivates me is the paycheck and I wish something else gave me drive.

This man and manga are responsible for reducing me to gasping sobs of sorrow, pain and release. I have struggled with the idea of faith and God for years and losing one of the most loved people last year furthered my doubt and hatred. The idea that the person I love was met by this wonderful and fair man brings me more closure and comfort than anything in the world. To me, this is truly what God looks like now.

Secret because: Finding God from a Korean manga sounds incredibly ridiculous and a bit blasphemous.
