Right now the only thing I have narrowed down is JUPITER ASCENDING, the lovely but only partly comprehensible movie by the Wachowskis.

I am totally up to stream ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, one of the greatest movie comedies ever filmed. Another candidate is THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, starring Monty Woolley as the world's greatest troll.

Or we could go with documentaries. I have PARIS IS BURNING, about the gay ball culture of 1980s NYC, and THE ART OF KILLING,, which I honestly haven't seen but have heard excellent things about.

I'm taking suggestions!

Just wondered what would it be like to just pick up and leave your job? One you've been in for almost 15 years now? I like my job, the coworkers are fine, but some days just seem tedious. And I don't have any idea what I like or want to do, except just walk. Walk everywhere, walk around, walk outside, not deal with people. I don't know if this is an itch I have or edge into something dark minded.

I am FINALLY going to see Mad Max tomorrow. So now I won't feel like such a loser. :P There is also a (huge) herb festival tomorrow so my sister and I will probably swing by to see if there is anything of interest. Other than those two (awesome) things, just the normal chores and such.

Giving away books

At the end of every year, there's a massive book sale here in my country and I always end up buying tonnes of books because the prices are so cheap, I can't go over my budget if I tried.

Problem is, as I grew older, I have become the world's pickiest reader, so I now also have a tonne of books I read a few pages of before tossing aside because it couldn't interest me. So I'd really like to give these books away or something, but in a cool way that I can get involved in. I don't want to just dump them at a charity - if I did do that, I'd like to hang around to give them out and tell people about them, you know? I thought about something like, just doing a giveaway online, or taking a walk and giving them to people I meet, but maybe there's a higher purpose I can give them out to at the same time (like some kind of cool reading campaign or something I could promote)?

So what do you think I can do, f!s? Have you ever given out books/something similar in the name of a higher purpose?

Fallout: New Vegas

So the (extremely shiny) Fallout 4 trailer reminded me that, "You never actually finished New Vegas...maybe you should get around to that", so I have a question: which order do you prefer to do the DLC in? (Yes, I could google this, but I thought I'd ask you guys.)

Is it important to do them before (certain points in) the main story, or does it make that much of a difference? (I think I have two or three major story quests left so would now be the time? I left off at roughly the same place on both my playthroughs and the only DLC I've done is Lonesome Road, which I just finished.)

Also, I suddenly can't dismiss my companions without them going back to their homes. Why won't they stay in the Lucky 38? This didn't used to be a problem, but now I don't even see an option to ask them to go there. Do I need to be ON the suite floor and fire them? Hopefully it was just a glitch...haven't had a chance to try again.)

birth control question (sprintec)

as the title suggests, i'm on sprintec. it's been about 6 months or so since i started taking the pill, and i was told the first three months might be a little wonky in the period department until my body gets used to the medication.

i think my period has since regulated itself but it's kind of annoying. my periods are/were never a problem, just average. as i got older i had little to no cramp issues. since being on sprintec, my period has actually gotten longer. it used to last 5 days or so. now it lasts about 7 or 8 even. the first few days i just spot a lot, and then my period "really begins" after that and is the normal flow i had before starting sprintec.

i didn't start taking this birth control for period relief so it's not a huge deal but at the same time i don't like bleeding for 25% of my month. i really only started sprintec in particular because i needed a contraceptive and my doctor suggested it because it's cheap.

is anybody here on birth control that isn't much more expensive than sprintec (mine is $9 a month) but is also known to reduce period lengths? just curious if there's anything else out there i could be trying. i'm annoyed that my periods are longer. still manageable, but too long for me to be satisfied with.

So now two cousins just a few years older than me have been diagnosed with breast cancer. They're sisters, so getting the damn things chopped off now would probably be an overreaction. (The 'damn things' being the boobs, not the cousins, hopefully obviously.) I should definitely look into starting mammograms early, though, I think.
