The costumes aren't the biggest draw for me, but I do love them! Some of them are really exquisite, and I love how intricate they are.

ETA: Just a sample of the genre books I've read lately... J by William Sanders and Silk by Caitlin Kiernan are about lesbians, one of the main pairings in Chasm City by Alastair Reynolds is a straight relationship in which the woman is trans. This is all just random stuff I've read since the beginning of this year. Right now I'm reading a novel ms for a friend in which two of the male main characters are FWBs. So I'm not sure why this is such a concern to you that it's distracting you from finishing your books.

The Salesman from Image's Severed miniseries reminded me a little of Squee's Granpa Hatey.

I hate how Aerith is portrayed ever since the Final Fantasy VII Compilation.

One of the reasons I loved her in the original Final Fantasy VII is because she was such a sassy, headstrong and confident character. It's a shame those character traits have been replaced with the "generic nice/innocent/angelic girl" trope.

Good for you, OP. The Disney Fairies line has its flaws, but I enjoy it. It's one of the few Disney lines that puts more emphasis on the girls' relationships with each other than with guys, and it deserves more credit for that.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. It's a real pity! Yuletide can be a pretty good place to request -- or get a chance to write yourself -- when it comes to older movies.

Serious question: is there any evidence that Snape repudiated his actual beliefs, rather than just his allegiance to the Death Eaters? I mean, is there anything in the books saying, "Snape realized it was totally wrong to hate Muggles and accepted them fully and wasn't a bigot anymore" or at least implying it?

Because it's honestly possible that there is something saying that and I don't remember it. But I've always thought that was the main reason for the difference in the way they're treated (along with the fact that Dumbledore was way less of an asshole to the kids that he was in charge of). Could just be totally wrong though so if I am, sorry about that!

I was sexually abused. When I first encountered Ghirahim, it made me so uncomfortable that I had anxiety problems and quit playing for several days. I think I'm just projecting, but something about Ghirahim rubs me the wrong way and he comes off as really sexual. I recently realized I unconsciously formed a headcanon that whenever they crossed paths, he tried to sexually dominate Link to humiliate and torture him. I feel guilty for thinking such an awful thing about something that probably wasn't even meant to be sexual. Feeling this way made the game more personal, so it was intense to play through. Weird enough, it has actually helped me deal with the abuse I went through. I even grew to like Ghirahim as a character. This is all really contradictory since it's very triggering for me. I'm confused about the whole thing to be honest.
