I've recced it in the past, and I seriously cannot rec this game enough:

One of the best little (metaphorically little, the game itself is expansive and long and awesome) indie TDs I've ever played. Great plot (actual story with depth and a hundred cutscenes, characters with actual personality - like we're talking "you'd be able to RP these characters" depth), great gameplay, achievements, hero-tower equips, bonus levels, endurance levels, newgame+, DRM-free, Mac or PC.

(Other things for those it matters to: features a female main character, 4/7 main characters are female, they talk about stuff that isn't boys because war and not dying is sort of more important, has non-white characters, non-human characters, and there is no romance, though you could read subtext into various ships. Which is nice!)

If you have $6 to spare, don't miss this!

The Last Of Us DLC

In about ten minutes we'll be seeing if my FIFTH attempt to download and install the DLC is successful. I spent all night last night trying to get it to work. It's an 80 minute download (five fucking gigabytes WHY) and each time it locks up exactly 14% into the install with an error code.

I know it's not my internet, or I'd be having problems across the board. But Sony tech support is giving me the runaround trying to tell me it's my ps3, or it's my internet, or some damn shit. But I know I'm not the only person having this issue. But the DLC has been out for like a month and there's been no fix.

They suggested I uninstall the base game and reinstall it and try the DLC again, so I'm giving that a try. I guess we'll see.

Recent fandom disappointments

Basically an excuse to vent, but would love for others to vent with me!

There is a story someone has been working on for awhile and I've really been looking forward to it. It's a fusion fic with a movie I enjoy and thought the fandom characters would fit so well. It finally came out today and I am so disappointed. :( It's basically a transcript of the movie with no recognizable characterization from the fandom characters and nothing actually changed outside the names. I'm about a quarter into it and all I can think is "I'd rather just go and re-watch the movie." So sad.

Bad* father who accidentally did tiny bits of good along the way, or good father with major flaws?

*Bad defined as someone who is actively harmful, not someone who just isn't very good at being a parent.

My vote us for good but flawed. Were his choices always the best? No. Did his emotions cloud his judgment? Yes. But you don't have kids and suddenly become a robot. He did the best he could with what he had (both in terms of resources and fortitude) to keep his kids alive while hunting down evil things.

I know, this is old, but I've been hit with a fresh round of "John Winchester is the LITERAL WORST PERSON EVER" (apparently a joke 'lost on me...but it's not my fault') and am grumpy.

This is the billionth time I've watched myself drifting away from fandoms and groups that give me a lot of joy, solely because I've gotten hooked on something else and can't seem to maintain my interest in the other thing anymore no matter how obsessed I was with it. :/ I figure my one-track mind might be connected to said obsessive tendencies (like maybe I care so much about the new fandom that I have no more energy left for caring about the old one?), and both are pretty bothersome traits that I wish I didn't have...

Sort of. I don't know how spoilery it's gonna get, but you can probably infer from my tone how the game ends.

You know what I am fed the fuck up with? Depressing endings. I'm one of those people who need their media to give them a world better than the real one. Not worse. It's fucking escapism, what is with media these days giving me worlds and characters I enjoy and then snatching them away? I don't want to play a whole fucking game, get attached to a character, then get the DLC that ends with "Haha! They dead now! Fuck you!"

Ugh. So fucking miserable right now. What do you guys recommend for something serious, adult-ish themes, fun and cool, that DOESN'T make me want to top me self?

As I posted elsewhere I once had a thing with a girl who tasted like she had been eating lemons, without any use of lip balm or special toothpaste, or actually eating lemons. It wasn't unpleasant by any means, since I like eating lemons normally.

Is this something people ever wonder about in regards to fandoms with non-human characters?

For example, are My Little Ponies unable to vomit?

How do Andalites poop? From their hooves, or their butt, or something else? (they did have a toilet, so they must have produced some kind of waste).

Is there a point to secrecy when I'm the only named poster who talks about my fandom?

Seriously, the only other unanon posters I can remember admitting to watching MLP are Insanenoodlyguy and Otakugal, both of whom apparently have issues with the fandom. Every once in a while, someone other than me submits an MLP secret, but I submit the majority of them, and I sometimes submit secrets about things I've already referenced unanon. Is there even a point to trying to hide which secrets are mine? (I don't want to start commenting on my own secrets like I'm not the OP, and since I comment on every MLP secret I don't submit . . .)

Then again, I suppose it's less obvious whose secrets are whose than it sometimes seems. I submitted a Twilight Zone secret once, and people thought it was by someone called Wicked223.
