Yay! I'm super early today! Hope this doesn't misfire!

Well, I'm writing a sci-fi story, and I have a love-hate relationship with worldbuilding. On the one hand, I obviously want to avoid plot holes and create a living world that readers can enjoy.

On the other hand, I don't want to spend all my time figuring out the details of every single blade of grass, instead of actually writing.

The whole idea of worldbuilding is daunting to me. I don't even know where to start! And, yes, I've had a look at Patricia C. Wrede's worldbuilding questions, but it sort of feels like I'm filling out a checklist, rather than doing things with purpose.

Does anyone know of any tips for worldbuilding in an intentional, structured way? That's focused and serves the story? I'm thinking a macro-to-micro structure, like a funnel.

I saw a Tumblr account yesterday that I'm 100% certain has to be a troll parodying SJWs:

-Demands (and I do mean demands, not requests) to be called it/itself, and flips out if misgendered.
-Talks constantly about being mentally ill and uses that as an excuse to be an arsehole.
-Is an otherkin/multi who believes they are the actual physical manifestation of a video game protagonist.
-Has a big "DO NOT FOLLOW ME IF" warning and the list is all fairly innocuous and common fandom things, but phrased in a way that implies anyone who likes them is a terrible -- and, of course, problematic -- person.
-Constant extreme more social justice than thou meta.
-Age implies that they're an adult and not an angsty teen.

Like I say, I'm calling troll. But people on Tumblr keep reblogging them super seriously, making pitying noises at them whenever they feel sad, and signal boosting their follow requests (even though there are only about two people who would meet their criteria for being allowed to follow them).

I don't know what's real and what's fiction anymore, F!S.

The RP group I'm in has an admin that runs the group, is in charge of keeping the peace and keeps a central page updated with who's-who. I fanmailed the admin about the Excessive Questioner. It turns out the admin is sick of this person as well and kicked them out of the group. Apparently, EQ has been causing other people the same sort of trouble. I kept quiet so long because I didn't want to make waves in the group in case admin was a friend who would boot me instead.

EQ is now blocked by everyone in the group. There was a public post stating this person and their friends are kicked out and why. Ohhhh there is butthurt galore! I'm getting a little anon hate here and there and blocking as it comes in.

As of now the personal issue is resolved. Now, we're going to deal with the drama and fallout. EQ and friends are acting like victims and trying to paint us as mean elitist RPers. I they didn't like being exposed as manipulators!

Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. I planned to resort to making a stench on the issue if the admin turned out to be one of EQ's friends, but in the end I didn't have to. The group is actually a lot happier without them!

So I have a girlfriend and I'm super crazy in love with her and nuts about her, she's fantastic. That's not the point, the point is that she's also not my type.

I have a type! And by type I mean the kind of person that would immediately catch my eye and I normally tend to pursue or date, like all my previous girlfriends/dates before my current one definitely tended to have similarities along those lines (hobbies/looks/areas of interest, that kind of thing). My girlfriend is... none of those, but I feel like she really compliments me in other ways and just because I'm not instantly drawn to her doesn't mean I'm not interested in her.

I think we both have the same views on life and personal values, and also goals about where we want to go and how we see relationships. Those aren't things that you can tell just from someone fitting a type. And I think the fact that my girlfriend isn't my type and I'm still nuts about her shows if anything that she has something better for me than just being of a certain type would have.

Anyway both her and I are okay with this, but I into an argument with a friend who insists that I'm making my girlfriend feel bad by saying she isn't my type but I'm with her anyway or that I shouldn't be saying things like that. (Also asked girlfriend, she said she doesn't either.) Friend seems to think that I can't possibly like girlfriend as much as I liked other girls (that I broke up with) because she doesn't have a set of features that honestly to me don't matter in long term relationship outcome? I don't really get this point of view at all. Anyone else have feedback or anything? I do like Friend, I just really don't get where they're coming from.

Who are your favorite actors that are always minor (or "That guy!") actors??

My all time favorite is Peter Stormare. When he is in a movie, I know I have at least something to look forward to (no matter how terrible the movie). He was the highlight of that terrible Brothers Grimm movie for me.

Another one I love is Keith David. His voice is amazing and makes him instantly recognizable (as anyone who loves the Gargoyles knows).

I got my second tattoo two days ago (not so fresh ink, but I arrived here too late to talk about it). It's the House Targaryen crest on my front shoulder, where I can see it if I look down, but it can be covered by most forms of business wear.

I'm extremely pleased even though it feels like I have a skin graft over the area.

how to stop drooling when sleeping on a plane

I don't fly often, and I haven't ended up falling and drooling on the person beside me (yet), but I get embarrassed. Tried wearing a surgical mask, but couldn't breathe properly with it over my nose, and it was awkward just having it balanced over my mouth. And it didn't contain the saliva securely enough, so I kept waking up.

I also drool in my sleep normally, and end up drooling even if I try to prop my jaw closed with a pillow. It might have to do with my thick lingual frenulum (short tongue). Help?

Teen Wolf episode and season-based recs/reclists?

I'm currently procrastinating my term papers mainlining Teen Wolf. Just finished Season 1 and I'm on my way to Season 2. I'm pausing between seasons to actually write those papers read some fanfics. What are your post-season (i.e. post-S1, post-S2, etc.) recs? Any good reclists or fics from after each season? Any particularly good episode codas I should bookmark to read after watching particular episodes? What communities/blogs/etc. are good places to be for Teen Wolf fics and fandom?

I need your advice. I've recently realized that I have a serious thing for my sister's boyfriend. Not a crush or anything like that. I'm just really, really attracted to him. My sister and I have not shared a type before, but her boyfriend is pretty much exactly my type.

How do I get rid of the attraction towards him? They're happy and probably going to marry in a couple years and I don't in any way want to ruin that. I would never, ever do anything. I just can't seem to stop wanting him.
