I am so sick of my friends starting political discussions, and then getting mad at me for responding.

Like, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you just wanted me to go "oh I totes agree with you.'

(What's funny is often, I'm not even disagreeing. I'm explaining why people think such and such. One time I was flat-out agreeing and still got in "trouble" because... reasons, I guess?)

My coworker has started pointing out every time I do anything wrong, and I don't know if I'm just taking it personally, or if she needs to scale back.

I mean, I am screwing up, though I don't really know why. But there's things I seriously would've just let go if I'd been her. OTOH, to be fair, I have messed up on some larger things, so maybe she's... trying to help?

I've shamed women for breastfeeding in public when I was younger.

I no longer do, because over the years I've learned it's apparently a huge feminist issues and realize I was being an ass either way.

It still grosses me out immensely, but I realize that is my problem, not theirs. I just remove myself from the situation, and avoid places that are actively baby-friendly.

Employee E at my job stole money and tried to frame employee K for it. After E was fired, someone whom E owed a thousand dollars came looking for him. I just stood by and watched while K gave him E's home address. I know it was wrong, but E repeatedly tried to convince my boss that I was a terrible worker and should be fired, so I didn't feel like intervening on his behalf.

Someone made fanart for a fic I wrote, which is amazing. But...it's kind of ugly. I feel like a terrible person for thinking this though. Do I just pretend that I like it?

Anyone been watching the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention?

I really like oratory and love a good public speaker. That is totally a non-political opinion, I think there's an art to giving a good speech. Being liberal, I found most of the RNC unbearable, though I did try to watch some of it. I've caught most of the "big name" Democrat speeches though, and there have been some AWESOME ones. I don't know if it's coincidence or what, but I thought most of the Republicans were terrible speakers, and Trump cannot give a proper speech to save his life - how can anyone listen to him rant and think he has anything worthwhile to say?

The Democrats had some damn polished speeches though. Favorites:

-Cory Booker (didn't even know who he was but fuck his speech made me shiver)
-Michelle Obama (teared up a little)
-Bill Clinton (for all of the dodging the elephant in the room, I thought the speech felt genuine)
-and of course President Obama himself (fuuuuuuuck that speech was pure art)

Honorable mentions: Elizabeth Warren. Bernie's was okay, mostly just a rehash of his same stuff.

I'm excited to see Hillary's speech tonight, just because I really want to see how she'll play it. I think the earlier speakers have done a great job of emphasizing her platform and "putting cream on the Bern" but there's a lot riding for her on tonight's speech. Objectively speaking (no matter how much the haters try to claim otherwise) she is a very excellent public speaker and even though she wasn't my favorite candidate, she was always the strongest debater on either side in the primaries, but she's really going to have to come across as genuine rather than just smart.

Anyone else watch? What speakers did you like or not like? Any thoughts?

A question for dildo-users.

To preface this I am a dude who has never had the need or desire to use a dildo on myself or a partner, so I come from a place of total ignorance about the subject.

Here's the question. What makes a dildo good? I don't mean what is it used for obviously. What makes Dildo A better than Dildo B? What bells and whistles does Dildo C have that makes it cost more than A and B combined?? How do you know if you'll like one before you try it out because I assume after you try it out, you can't return a slightly used dildo?? What would make you rate a dildo 5 stars on Amazon as opposed to 4? or 3? or 2?

I now have "what makes a dildo good???" in my Google search history but that gave me stuff like "15 Common Household Things to Use as a Dildo" or "15 Best Sex Toys" and that is not what I'm looking for.
