I'm writing a fic with a scene where someone gives a detective an address. I don't want to use a real one, so I just made shit up -- but I still want it to sound realistic. So! Take the following:

"He lives on Foster Street. I didn't get the precise address, but it's apparently close to some park — Wilson Park, I think it was."

Would anyone ever refer to a New York address like that? Maybe it's way too vague for a detective to be able to look up? I really don't know much about the city, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out! Thanks in advance :)

o So, I heard the Ke$ha song “Die Young” on the same day as a certain horrific shooting, and now I cannot separate the two events, but I would really like to, as the song has been played a lot where I live, and it causes me issues with functioning. Does anyone know of any good ways to disassociate two things, or is it not ever going to happen?

I never finished Final Fantasy III (DS version). It just didn't keep my interest all that much, and when I accidentally saved over my game, I couldn't bring myself to care enough to restart from scratch.

I'm gonna try the first episode tonight. I've already been exposed to a lot of spoilers and stuff through fandom osmosis, so feel free to be spoiler-y with advice -- tell me, what should I expect? What would you warn me of? What would you think I might find exciting? What should I watch out for? What should I be aware of in order to not be weirded out or thrown off? Any weird hiccups or irregularities? How would you guys rate the episodes?

I didn't speak to a soul. Literally. I went to work. Sat at my desk. I work with a real life Mary-Sue and her fan club. Ignored everyone. They ignored me. The only communication I had with another living human being was an e-mail from someone I know from LinkedIn. And Facebook. And now, FS.

After work I went home, went to bed, pulled the covers over my head and cried for two hours.

Searching for a film

I remember seeing this film a LONG time ago and can only recall bits and pieces, but I'd really like to see it again now that I'm old enough to appreciate it. It revolved around three friends (roommates?), two men and a woman. From what I remember they became a 3-person relationship, or at least were all sleeping together. I think it was probably made in the late eighties to mid-nineties. Fairly sure the female had brown hair. Any help is appreciated, also taking recommendations for similar titles. Thank you!

After watching Les Mis, I expected there to be an endless bounty of Valjean/Javert fics. But they turned out to be really difficult to find - Enjolras/Grantaire seems to be the fandom's favourite pairing.

Anyone else had this experience?

there's like 100 valjean/javert fics on Ao3 alone. it's not as common as enjolras/grantaire but I wouldn't really call it difficult to find

I like to save my favorite fics too! I have a Kindle, so it works out great. Heck, I have more fic on that thing than I have actual "books" on it.

I used to manually go and copy paste chapters one by one and convert them... but now I just use flagfic, which is compatible with a bunch of major fanfic websites.
