What are your favourite hobbies? The ones you do most often, and/or the ones you wish you had more time for.


I like art (portrait sketching, painting) although I can't be arsed to do it much these days. I would KILL for a good place to do ballroom dancing in my area, especially one with a lot of blokes so I can follow instead of leading.

ridiculous etiquette freakout

aaaaa I am having a small freakout, FS please tell me whether I done wrong:

-My place of employment currently has invited a professional as a guest for a few days to see how we run things and as a foundation for a possible future business deal.

-I am one of two people on our staff that can speak his native language (although his English is VERY good). My job for yesterday and today essentially consisted of shepherding him from department to department and doing vocabulary spot checks.

-I was assigned to drive him back to his hotel and set him up for delivery instead of the dinner with my immediate supervisor that was scheduled for tonight because he was incredibly tired (jet lag + 7 hours of meetings). He insisted that I accompany him to dinner instead of doing delivery, and also that he pay for it.

I'm shit scared that my boss is going to come down on me like a sack of angry bricks for not somehow either a) talking him into eating alone in his hotel room with the same pizza we ended up eating anyway, or b) stealing the check, despite the fact that I'm younger, less senior, and he thinks I'm doing him a favor by playing "translator". I picked a cheapish (although not a dive) restaurant and one of the least expensive menu items, and we shared it anyway. FS, is there anything I could have done better here?

I'm reading so much Merlin/Arthur. Everything. Short fic, long fic, AUs, PWP (the last two I very rarely read even for my OTPs). I have a serious problem and it's that this pairing hits like all my relationship dynamic kinks. I haven't even made it to season 3 of the show yet.

So I've been thinking about doing the fs secret santa. I could write a ship essay/manifesto or some fic. I think it would be cool to participate but the fact is, though, I'm not very good. Would anyone advise me against participating? Would you be disappointed if you got a crappy gift. Be honest, don't worry about hurting my feelings. :)

For me it's the classic movie 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers'.

I used to watch it with my grandma every time we went to visit her and it became one of my favourite movies. I still love it even though I now understand how bad the implications of brothers actions were.

Drawing Resources

I've been wanting to get better at drawing for a while but I'm not sure where to begin. I know "practice, practice, practice" but I want to make sure I'm not forming bad habits. Does anyone have some good resources for learning to draw?

I have a fandom friend on tumblr, and we've known each other for a while (over a year, I think?) In any case, we get along well, and we do talk occasionally. She's not the type of fandom friend I talk to nearly every day like some people, but I do like her a lot. We like a lot of the same things, like each other's text posts and selfies, etc. etc.

Anyway, the problem is that she has suicidal episodes really frequently. She constantly makes text posts about wanting to die, how she wants to kill herself, and suicide methods she's considering. She has very low self-esteem and needs a lot of attention. She makes a lot of posts about how she's fat and ugly (when she's pretty clearly conventionally attractive), and she ignores people when they try to reassure her.

When she's having one of these episodes, I tend to ignore it, but I feel kind of bad about it afterward. She's made these sorts of posts since I've known her, and nothing ever happens but what if it did? I don't think I'd be able to forgive myself if she actually did end up killing herself, and I completely ignored her.

Anyway, do any of you have any advice for this? I'd appreciate it!

Mine was mostly good! I finally fixed my laptop (which had been broken since October, ahaha), and whenever I remember yesterday's thread I just felt so happy! (Thanks, Stella <3)

My job is fun and my partner and I make a good team :33 I'm only worried because it's been a month and there's still no contract in sight. My boss is a nice woman (though VERY strict!)... but her husband? The guy hates me. He always manages to berate me in front of her, and looks at me as if I were sour milk. I have no idea of what I did to wrong him.

Still, I'm feeling good now (dead tired, but good!) ^^ Hope you all are alright!

This video is why I started doing parkour. I don't think it would go down well if I admit I started it because I wanted to be like a videogame character.

Bonus: I had my hair cut like Faith's for a cosplay I did and I'm now keeping it that way.
