It seems almost a given these days that there are words for races, sexes and orientation that you just shouldn't use - or at the very least you shouldn't expect not to be called out if you DO use them.

But hand to god, I just saw someone reply to the phrase "military brat" with "don't say brat, because it's an adultist slur." And I can't help but think we've officially gone too far.

So what are some of the most ridiculous "slurs" you've heard? What do WISH people would recognize as a slur? Are there slurs that have morphed to be acceptable given modern usage?

Weekend Plans

We just had a horrible storm come through our county. There might have even been a tornado (regardless, the wind was able to snap 80 foot power poles). Our power just came back on after four hours of being off. So, tomorrow will be dedicated to cleaning up the yard (got some tree branches down) and going shopping. I am hoping to also watch Deadpool and some horror movie as well.

Because I pointed out that he keeps responding to things I said, as if I had said something completely different. Like he obviously isn't listening to me, but he just assumes I was saying some thing, so he responds like I did say that thing.

But any criticism of him, is trying to force him to be someone else.

Before people start yelling about how nobody deserves anyone else's love in a relationship, what about parents loving children or children loving parents, provided they're at least decent to each other? What about a situation in which someone promised love and failed to deliver?

The only "awareness" people need to raise about borderline personality disorder is to make people aware of the symptoms so they can cut stay the fuck away from anyone who has it and isn't being managed by a therapist.

I don't fucking care how awful people with unmanaged BPD are suffering. The absolute toxic fuckery they inflict on others negates any sympathy I would have. You may not choose to be mentally ill, but you sure as fuck choose to act like a selfish, manipulative fuckpuddle about it.
