General comments:

Photoshop question.

So, I finally broke down after losing Photoshop 7 a few years ago and bought Photoshop Elements 10 a while back. I can't decide if I'm just having a hard time figuring it out, or if it's really as shitty as it seems.

Because I can't seem to make some of the most basic of things work -- like putting a stroke around letters in a text box or adjusting the kerning. The ability to stroke is WHY I went back to Photoshop (well, that and Chocoflop is very unstable). I can SEE the option in the drop-down, it's just unselectable.

Plus the available fonts in general are pretty ugly, but I guess I can download more from somewhere, right? (Seriously, why is it so hard to have a big fat Franklin? Postino is about as close to what I'm looking for as I've found, but it's way, way to jokey.)

I miss PS7. We've got Creative Suite 2 (3? I don't really remember) at work, and it's okay. But I shouldn't be making secrets and blog banners at work.

Also, am I first?! That would be so awesome.

Anyone else watching the webseries, The Untitled Web Series about a Space Traveler who can also travel through Time, which is a parody of Community's Inspector Spacetime which is a parody of Doctor Who? (Phew.)

It's hilarious and cheesy and I love it. And it needs love. If you haven't seen it yet, here's the first episode. (There are six so far.)

Oh, Mulan is your hero? You think she'd hate all those "classic" princesses--yeah, Snow White, so weak. Of course Cinderella would cattily hate a girl like Pocahontas, because that's clearly what you're actually like when you're beautiful and kind, deep down.

Yeah, it was so anti-feminist that Tiana picked a human life over a goddamn business. Totally the wrong choice, and I'm sure everyone would have been happy if she had thrown Naveen and her best friend under the bus so she could cook some food wearing a pretty dress.

So, I've got this idea for a follow-up fic where Character A comes home after a bad day at work and has couch sex with his wife that is so frantic and needed that they don't even declothe all the way. It's so hot in my head, but I can't make any remotely sexy words come.

Also, the impetus for the sexy times is that he was spied on a date with his (closeted to everyone else) genderqueer wife by someone who thought he was out with a man and has just been confronted about it. And while I think it all ultimately goes places that are good, you can see why that might cause some internet wank that I don't particularly want.

I have Word 2002. It's what i write in. All my fic were written in this (and the older ones in Word 98 or whatever).

Here's my issue. I'm trying to repost some old stuff, so it's up on AO3 and more accessible. I'm tidying up my original word .docs, and they are all - read only. I did *not* choose to make them read only. When i try to turn 'read only' off, the little boxes that say 'read only' ARE NOT CHECKED.

But they're still 'read only' and won't let me save any of my edits. I have *no clue* how they got set as read only, and cannot figure out how to turn it off when there are no little checks to undo.

Help?

No clue how that happened, and my only suggestion is to highlight everything and do a copy/paste into new files.
