Just got back from seeing Thor: The Dark World.

I'm ready for some fic. Haven't read anything Thor in um, two years. Not dumb!Thor or woobie!Loki, please, although I trust no one would rec that anyway ;) Not a fan of mpreg or threesomes either, otherwise --- thanks a million!

I'm American but I've been living abroad for the past couple years, and visiting home I notice some things - but I wonder what it's like for people from other countries? Particularly if you lived or spent a significant amount of time here.

I had a sex dream with someone I've worked with before while sleeping over at my boyfriend's. I feel so wrong, but it was SUPER hot.

Still really guilty though, I don't know. I find the guy very attractive and he was a better kisser in my dream (not saying my bf is bad at it. At all).

I'm an introvert, and have slight... not social anxiety, I just get really nervous about going places by myself. I'm a bit awkward and I don't have a lot of friends - I don't think I'm awkward to the point of turning people off, I just have trouble pushing myself out there. Anywhere, there's an event tonight that I want to go to, and I'm trying to work up the courage to go by myself as my friends are uninterested. Shyness, go away! I just have this weird thing where I might look pathetic and awkward if I go places on my own and friendless. lol

Anyone similar? What do you do to get yourself out there and doing the things you want to, even by yourself?

Like, casual mention that a character was a prostitute some time in the past. ("Dean turned a few tricks to keep Sammy fed," for example.)

Final Fantasy XII fic recs?

The FFXII fic by paradox_fantasy on LiveJournal is probably my favourite! The author wrote a Balthier/Ashe fic called 'The Long Shot' and it's the only fic I've read over more than once.

There was also this one involving Fran and Balthier in AO3 that I started reading a few months ago but I lost it :( I can't remember what it was about, but it had a few chapters to it and I wanted to read more. I think it was more centered around Fran, actually, but I can't recall.

I just want something well written and centers around Balthier in some way heh

So I've been thinking about this a lot, and it seems like most of the popular stories these days involve getting readers/viewers emotionally invested in characters and then killing them off brutally. I know it depends on genre and agegroup, and there are a lot of things that don't involve that, but look at Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Hunger Games (probably a lot of other YA), Attack on Titan, Homestuck... probably a lot more I'm not too familiar with. Is anyone sick of it? I think I might be. Do you think it'll shift in any time in the next few years, or writers might start trying to counter it? Or is that just what makes a great story?

Today I didn't want to stay home but I didn't have the energy to go out so I laid on the stairs leading up to my apartment and let my dog eat my hair while making little moany sounds pretending I was a decomposing zombie getting picked over by scavengers. It made me feel better until someone walked by and stopped to look at me.
