Hey, look it. It's this durn movie R.O.T.O.R. It's about a killer robocop in Texas and it's pretty much the most Texas thing that Texas'd. It's not a very good movie, but it's hilarious in that '80's B-movie way. And, honestly, everyone should experience the majesty of the other robot character, Sassy Robot Cop, who wears a cute little hat and sighs a lot in the cutest way.

THEN, it's MANBORG. Manborg fights, like, demon Nazis and the bad guy is called Draculon. Also, Manborg and his friends battle in a gladiatorial arena. It's an newer film that fashions itself as a homage to B-movies while being low-budget itself. (IMO, it does a pretty good job at being exactly what it wants to be.)

ANd, Eliminators , a movie that is pretty much everything and the kitchen sink, robots, androids, rowdy river boat captains and ninjas. And more. So much more. Also, Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar from Star Trek TNG) reinforces the fact that she really likes androids, especially fully functional ones.

I was talking to my family the other day and said that if I ever had kids I wouldn't teach them that Santa is real, if I did the whole Santa thing at all. I'm also not Christian so I wouldn't do the whole religious Christmas thing. Mostly I see it as a winter celebration about family and love and yeah, presents. But my family seems to think I'm awful and robbing my hypothetical children of a magical childhood and if I'm not going to do Santa or Christianity then why bother celebrating any type of Christmas at all?

So I'm just curious, what others think about the whole Santa thing and what they would, or do, teach their kids about the holiday?

(I know not everyone celebrates. This is obviously a question for those who do.)

Complaining about the misogyny of white men

What’s with this? Yes there are lots of misogynistic white men, no-one could seriously disagree with that. Yet there’s just as many misogynistic men of colour. And if you sat down and honestly listed the best feminist male allies they would disproportionately be the white men.

Is it just the juvenile “privilege is pokemon, and intersection is too difficult so fuck yt men!”? Or is there some other reason I’m missing as to why they get specifically picked out for misogyny?

There's a non-native English speaker in one of my fandoms who makes wallpapers, and when she makes a wall with a het couple on it she calls it a "hetero wall" and I think it's funny because I'm easily amused.

I dated with a guy 3-4 years ago when we were both 18 and I loved him but also I hurt him so much and we broke up very bad. I am pretty sure he hated me for a long time. I saw him this week at his university(he got into a better university than his old one) and I wanted to say hello but couldn't decide if it was a good idea or not. I really want to reach out to him but idk what would he do. Should I send a message on facebook to him because I want to congrats him and say I am so sorry for all the dumb things I did or just forget about him?

Having the urge to write a "For Want of a Nail" AU

I was just struck with this urge to write one that only swaps Pinkie and Fluttershy's races and see how much is changed. Just out of curiosity, partly because I saw concept art of Pinkie as a Pegasus and the idea interested me (Pinkie Pie, master of upside down flying)

I wanted to keep the even race ratio. I can't imagine Rainbow Dash without wings, and i was curious about how Fluttershy might fit in with Earth Ponies with her animal speaking ability.

Would anybody be interested in a story like this?
