I have this picture in my head that I really want to create. I'm okay with a camera but nothing special, it's a hobby of mine. For this picture, I'm going to need to make a composite out of at least two shots, and I really don't know how to go about it, or what program to look for for combining pictures smoothly. None of my regular user-friendly programs seem to be able to do more than cut and paste, but photoshop is an expensive and confusing undertaking. Any suggestions, advice and/or tips are heartily appreciated!

Any recommendations? Not yuri, BL or bara, but regular manga and anime with LGBT characters that aren't a joke (unless it's a comedy and it isn't offensive).

Sorry F!S, just need to vent.

I'm the anon from a while back who had the argument about board games with her bf.

So, completely separately of that, my mother caught wind of the fact we were fighting and went all: Well that's because your relationship isn't GOING ANYWHERE.

Meaning, that because we don't intend to get married, or have kids, and are not currently planning to shack up, we're not going anywhere and we're inevitably going to end in failure.

And the thing is, my mom's usually cool about this, but I wonder now if deep down this is how she really feels.

And this, F!S, is why I fundamentally hate the whole concept of relationships. I mean, I have loved individual people over the years, but I hate the societal bullshit and expectations that come with it.

Completely unrelated to the fact of whether or not this relationship will last or not, I'll likely will be hearing this shit all my life, from people who are supposed to have my back.

What are some of your guilty pleasures? Can be TV Shows, Movies, Books, Games, Foods, whatever.



My guilty pleasure food is definitely vienna sausages. They are terrible for you and probably made of the worse parts of the animals, but I love them so much.

And my guilty pleasure TV Show is House Hunters. I love it so friggin' much (especially the international version). Thought I do hate watching them debate what house to get. Just tell me!

"Woobie" characters and OOC stuff in general

I sometimes see these complaints about male characters in fan fiction, that people turn them into "woobies" or make them seem too weak or feminine. I can understand the annoyance at changing a character's personality, or writing them "out of character." But it has occurred to me, that there aren't many characters who have those qualities canonically, and possibly that's why people do that in fanfiction - to make up for something that never seems to exist in canon? Obviously some people like those types of characters, or they wouldn't put them into fanfics.

Do you think this could possibly explain the tendency of fic writers to write OOC characters? And then is the problem not with fic writers being bad writers, or with certain character types never being portrayed in media canonically?
