Have you ever heard of this? Is it just a popsicle? I was reading a fic and two characters went to an ice block vendor and got ice blocks to eat as they were walking around a park. All I could picture were those giant ice blocks they used to deliver for the first refrigerators, or "ice boxes".

gardening question about geraniums

My co-worker gave me her geranium. It has three branches, each about 1.5-2 feet long. When I got the plant, there were dried flowers/leaves along the branches, so I picked them all off. Now, there's a set of blooms growing only at the end of each branch (there are leaves growing in along the branches, but no flowers).

My question: Do geraniums only flower at the end of a branch? I googled and saw a lot of info about how to make geraniums branch more but couldn't quite determine where they flower. Thanks for any advice you can give me, FS!

In your most humble of opinions, what is the worst commonly given gift you can receive? And by commonly given, I mean like gifts people are more likely to give. So, less rabid rhino filled with bees and more like a fruit basket.

Personally, I hate it when people give me plants. To me it says, "Here, have a new responsibility that you did not want or ask for." I always end up killing the plant because I can't be bothered. I don't want a new hobby, thank you.
I can see if you were giving a plant to a gardener but your average joe? Just don't.

So apparently 4chan decided to make #endfathersday trending. Feminists fell for it and are now complaining on twitter to end Father's Day because it promotes 'masculism and rape culture".

And then Tumblr has post after post of, "SOME PEOPLE DON'T HAVE FATHERS!!! STOP RUBBING FATHER'S DAY IN THEIR FACE!!!!!"

So my work placement ended this week, I thought it was great and I was looking forward the summer job I was promised when I begun.
Well.
No summer job for me. They are hiring, though, they even need even more people filling in this summer than the previous years, but they won't hire me.
It's not you it's us, they tell me: because I'm autistic. They agree that with proper training I would be at least as efficient and probably even more than anyone else for the job, but they won't spent the time and energy to train me.
I'll have to find another place and this thought fills me with crippling apprehension, and if someone else wanted to hire me they will ask why I didn't get the job at my previous place and once I answer that oh, I wans't competent enough, then noboby will hire me...
