What are some types of arguments that you find annoying for whatever reason, or just illogical? I'm thinking more of methods of arguing that can show up in discussions on all kinds of topics and less about specific arguments about one topic - but if you see an illogical or annoying argument on a specific topic often, of course you can include it.

Sleep Schedule Issues

Through a combination of stress, school, and boredom, my sleep schedule is really messed up. I fall asleep, but I can't stay asleep. Or I toss and turn. Or I wake up five times. Or I'm too wide awake to fall asleep.

Any advice to help me get through this last month of school?

[P.S. I already exercise daily, sometimes twice daily, so it's not that. I also eat plenty of fruits and veggies, so it's not my diet either.]

What are some weird childhood habits you used to have that you grew out of?

When I was younger I used to chew on my hair and shirt collar. No idea why, but in retrospect it was really gross. The tips of my hair would get all wet and slobbery (ad did my shirt collar). Thankfully I just chewed and didn't eat my hair. Eventually my parents got me a short haircut so I grew out of it.

And only in the past 2-3 years have I been able to stop my habit of chewing my nails off. That was a hard won battle!

So I'm in the ER with my mom, who was headed to rehab this morning. I was home doing tax stuff and wanted to take a break, so I brought her her coat and some markers because she had a 4 hour wait for her ride. And found her unconscious outside. When I went inside to ask about her, they thought she'd been picked up already. She's so drunk I'm afraid she might die, she has liver cancer and cirrhosis and I didn't even manage to file a tax extension for either of us. I'm so pissed at the addiction center staff; the ER techs and nurses were all asking why she was left alone with her wallet for hours with no one watching her and I'm like good fucking question. I'm terrified and I have.a quiz tomorrow. They just took her for a CT scan and she couldn't even say goodbye. I hope she lives, the rehab staff were gonna try and hold the bed. I don't know if I could handle her dying right now, I'm taking 20 units and working 20 hours a week and i just have no reserves left. I've never drank in my life but I want a drink now, I feel like I'm gonna puke.

I recently caught an episode of Castle (erm, spoilers?), and found myself intrigued by the premise as much as the apparent lack of a relationship between the main characters. Surprise surprise, I Googled and found out they do wind up together.

I pine for media where the woman can work alongside the man and not wind up sleeping with, marrying, and/or carrying his baby. Does this exist?

my family and I are watching monday night smackdown or whatever it's called (because that's the channel the tv was turned to when we put it on and we just rolled with it because there were unicorn-men wrestling and playing trombones) and since I know there are some wrestling fans here, I have some questions

BOOK CLUB: MAY TIEBREAKER POLL IS CLOSED

The winner, by a very narrow margin, was Maurice by E. M. Forster! Therefore that is the book we will be reading in May!

I'm sorry this went up so late, guys. I'm going to be Not Really Here for the next few days as some important IRL shit has come up. :/ It won't be permanent. I'm reading the book for April and will be prepared to have a discussion at the end of the month!

Speaking of that - I'm planning on doing it Monday May 2, and I haven't heard any major dissent. I think Mondays are less likely to be occupied by peoples' weekend plans and it's definitely the best day for me that falls within a few days of April 30. Tentatively we will go with that date. I'll post about it again too.
