I ship two RP characters so hard, but I have nobody to tell, because if I tell the RPers, they'll probably side-eye me so hard (and even if I send it anon, they might know it's me, since I tend to be known for being the crazy shipper in fandoms that don't really focus on shipping, like the one they're RPing in), and nobody else I know follows their RP.

Sigh.

Got any ships you can't tell anyone about, f!s? Does it drive you crazy, or do you prefer being a private shipper?

Wolfenstein: The New Order (and other video games)

I admit, I was a little worried this game wouldn't be great. Perhaps my fears stemmed from Bioshock Infinite being such a crushing disappointment.

At a 40gb install I was thinking this damn well BETTER be awesome.

Well... it is! Aside from the cute references to Wolfenstein 3D and old-school silliness of dual-wielding shotguns the size of chainsaws there's a genuinely fun and rewarding stealth and/or action game with a neat skill tree that lets you cater to your playstyle. There's also a very grim feel to it that doesn't feel too forced most of the time. You know it's gonna be bad when you're staging a last-chance assault on a Nazi stronghold... in 1946.

So what're you guys playing?

Just because I don't wear my hair long, dress the way you dress or like the things you like, that doesn't mean I'm not a woman or I'm trying to make some grand gender statement.

I am a woman who likes what she likes and does what she wants, not a poster child for your cause of the day.

Does anyone else feel like people have foisted inaccurate labels on you, whether negative or -- in this case -- intended to be positive/supportive?

All Disney music for me, though Lion King is obviously my favorite. I will sing that shit any day of the week while doing jazz hands and head bobbing. I have actually started singing at work unintentionally when I have headphones on. I also loving singing Metallica songs, especially when I am in an angry mood. >:[

So, I got an LJ e-mail alert saying "I was mentioned"/my entry was linked to, so clicked on it and see the metadata for an old fic of mine. At first I assume it's a rec or something, but I scroll down, I see the entire fic reposted in this journal. The entire post was nothing but my original post, except at the top there's an "Originally posted by [user]nyxelestia at [hyperlinked fic title]". And when I say entire post, I mean including end notes, formatted like my post and everything.

Given that they are not claiming this fic as their own, but rather clearly indicating myself as the author and linking to my original entry with the fic, it's not plagiarism. But at the same time...why repost the entire fic? Especially when you've linked to it?

And there's no comment, no commentary, no helpful tags, nothing. The actual journal, when I looked at it, is mostly just this with a handful of other stories, and that's it, that's all I could see.

They literally just took my post and reposted it in its entirety to their journal, and I am so confused right now. Can someone explain what might be going on? I feel like I should be reporting this, but since they are crediting me, they're not technically in the wrong...?

Who here practices martial arts? Or really likes them in movies? Or both? Do you try to find movies that have people using the style you're studying? Ever been inspired by a movie to study a particular art?

Me, I've been studying bagua lately, and man, apart from Jet Li in The One, there's not a lot of it in kung fu movies. This after teenaged-me IMPRINTED on Jet Li in Tai Chi Master.
