I was diagnosed with pddnos (autism spetrum stuff) when I was fairly young. I try to keep it on the downlow since it's embarrassing to me, I don't relate to much of the community, and I was always a borderline case anyway. I still have a couple of tells like avoiding eye contact and other general awkwardness, but do fine in normal settings.

Well, I'm in need of some, but I'm guessing it could be a generally useful thread!

(I am already in therapy, I'm about 99% sure that I'm not mentally ill - my psychiatrist and my therapist both think that I'm not - but, um. I guess it's just me being a young person with no parental figures. I'm suffering from sharp, physically unpleasant random fits of anxiety and would appreciate any advice I can get. Breathing and meditation have already been tried. They do help, but only so much.)

So, I like to rule lawyer. It's the only thing that's any fun for me any more. Anyone else like this?

I don't care about repeats, I don't care about unwarned for spoilers, and I don't care about ignoring trigger warning conventions really. I don't care about slurs, I don't care about trolls or wank or ignorant misogynists/racist/homophobes

I do care that if I slip up on any of these things myself I will be immediately reported, that my thread will be deleted or frozen without question or a chance to unfreeze/clarify/plead any kind of case. Or that if I'm elsewhere on the internet the consequences are much much worse.

I do care that I don't feel comfortable talking about very much openly, I do care that there is a feeling of there being no free or fun exchanges.

And so I now instead of risking accidentally trolling by saying to doing something 'taboo' I now deliberately troll by sticking vigorously to the rules.

The most fun I have on fandom secrets is waiting for someone to repeat a secret so I can have it removed, or waiting for someone to say something wring so I can get them frozen or banned. This is no-one's fault in particular, but I realised today that's what I'm doing and I know why. It does not make me happy, but it is the only fun I feel safe having right now.

I am sure I can't be alone in this. At very least this can't be beyond the realms of understanding, can it?

So FS, here's a question for you: Which shows, movies, or video games did you like when you were younger and have revisited in recent times, only to find they have either:

- aged like wine (it ended up getting better as you got older)
- aged like milk (it didn't age well at all and is not as good as you thought it was)
- aged like fermented milk (probably not the best, but there's something about it you still like in spite of its dubious age)

I'd put the year cap at at no later than 2012, so anything made after that is still too soon to count.

Not just my computer because the same comes on my husband's smartphone and the XBox.

Healthcare team advice?

This was sort of mentioned in the diagnosis thread, but since so many of you guys seem to know the ins and outs of healthcare settings, I was hoping to get some advice?

I requested a copy of my complete medical files from my neurology clinic, and upon reviewing them, found a completely unrelated EKG (heart teat) result said I had an arrhythmia that had an excellent chance of killing me. \o/ This was especially alarming, since this was captured when I was taken to the ER for collapsing. Even the physician who wrote the summary was basically like, "Uhm, wtf."

I called the neurology clinic to ask, "Dude, did you see this? Should I be worried?" But the med tech who was browsing my files said they didn't have that result, and asked me to forward it. (With hilariously incompetent results. It's like quintessential black comedy.)

This clinic is partnered with the ER I was admitted to. I got the EKG result as a request through the clinic. I am having a very hard time understanding why they can't access something I requested from their records.

Uhm, but otherwise. Does this seem like I'm coming off as a weirdo hypochondriac? Or am I being a proactive advocate of my health? Does my care team seem incredibly under informed, or is this standard?

I'm so frustrated I've shot past frustrated and into bleak humor.
