I got thinking about how much it bugged me in the Deathly Hallows movie when Harry ran into Ron and Hermione before going to the Forbidden Forest to meet Voldy. I thought Hermione's "I'll go with you" was extremely sweet and true to character, but too on the nose, and I don't think Ron and Hermione would have ever let Harry go. I also just think it undercut the self reflection of the moment--I understand how that could be hard to convey on screen, but I think Harry walking, unseen, through his friends and classmates as they recover would have been more poignant than the scene with Ron and Hermione.

Basically 90% of the Cirque Du Freak movie. Who decided that a single two hour movie should cram in books 1,2, and 11. Who hired the lead. Who directed him like that.

Death Note spoilers

I liked the anime ending a lot, but I was super pissed that they did not include the flashback with Ryuk and Light talking about how heaven and hell don't exist at all, all humans become nothingness when they die. I felt that was an extremely thematically important part of the climax, it was really frustrating that they cut it.

I will never forgive the original 101 Dalmatians movie for removing Perdita and giving her name to Missus and changing Pussy Willow/Lieutenant into a male cat. I understand why they did those things but I love those characters so it's like the movie was personally designed to disappoint me.

I also agree with your Deathly Hallows example.

F-Zero GP Legend/Falcon Densetsu. All of it.

I know that's a load coming from someone who's username/net handle came from that anime (but Lucy Liberty is best F-Zero girl, so I hope that if they do make a new game for the NX, she's brought over somehow), but all of the changes from the source material just rustle my jimmies years later. Rick Wheeler/Ryu Suzaku is the worst donut steel in a video game cartoon ever, the arbitrary 'good/evil' alliances, making Jody a cyborg, Leon a werewolf instead of an anthro space cat, Jack Levin's grotesque appearance... I think the only thing that anime did right was Zoda.

Considering how big of a flop that entire venture was (all 51 episodes aired in Japan, yeah, but we never got past episode 15 in the States, plus we never got the sequel GBA game), it's no surprise that Nintendo's disavowed its existence in the Smash Bros titles (save for a Falcon color palette in the recent SSB that's a pithy nod to Ryu) and it managed to tank the F-Zero franchise for the last 12+ years. :/

Not exactly a remake (yet, but it will be), but changes in Final Fantasy VII from the original game to Advent Children:

-Changing Aeris from a fun, mischievous, brave and lively person to a blushing virginal statue
-Changing the Turks, especially Reno, from a sly, terrifying mass murderer to a silly comic relief who feels bad about stuff
-Making Zack still "alive" - his spirit should not exist anymore, it should've long since totally decomposed into the Lifestream. Unless he's a hallucination Cloud is having and not literally there, but since Aeris is implied to be more literally there the Zack thing is annoying as fuck
-Making Tseng and Rufus alive. (blah blah blah rumor has it Tseng wasn't supposed to be implied to have died but whatever, still awkward and Rufus definitely should not have survived being exploded)

-Faramir and Elrond's character assassinations
-Thranduil and Bard's character swaps
-Gimli as comic relief
-Legolas' characterization and ascendancy to jealous boyfriend
-Unnecessary romance; doubly for the forced love triangle
-Smaug vs golden statue
-Dori/Nori/Ori "wrong side of the sheets"
-Ori without a proper weapon

I got tired of bookmarking a dozen separate Tumblrs and finally got myself an account so I can follow everything at once. Is there a way to turn off the recommendations on the sidebar? And to tell it to stop interrupting me every two seconds to highlight the reblog button and show me that it's a thing I can do? Is there anything else I should know? (And are there any of you I should be following?)

Crazy coworker update

I think he is going to leave me alone. Today I didn't let him get into a rant and he was gone after about 10 minutes (last time it was 45 minutes).

Later on he asked me to be a house reference and I declined, because Ive never lived with him and I'm not going to lie. Especially since he asked me in front of coworkers and we are government so high morality standards. Later on he sent me a message.

I feel pretty bad but I'm also relieved? And a little guilty but I think he's just asking all the time from me for things I cannot do.


Here is the message. Am I wrong? Did I misunderstand how rental reference? I couldn't in good mind give a good character reference either...and he's not wrong, we are coworkers not friends. I don't have intention to respond. I feel bad but as someone said last time, I'm not his counsellor or agony aunt :(

I needed some advice today and have been extremely upset as I have not been paid and needed someone to help me find a home so i dont stay off the street. I understand you were busy but i thought you were my friend. I am sorry for asking you but I feel now that you said no to being being a reference so i can stay off teh street that i am not someone you really trust and would rather avoid helping me because you believe i am not someone reliable. I am not going to bother you anymore and will be professional from this point on. People avoiding helping me with advice or a favour so i can get my life together when they know it wont affect them is the reason jwhy i ended up where i am and i realised it means that we arent the friends i thought we were.
