Question about A/B/O dynamics

I'm new to this concept, but why are Betas always just regular people? If Alphas can impregnate, whether they're male or female, and Omegas can be impregnated, whether they're male or female, why wouldn't Betas be able to both whether they're male or female?

It seems like wasted potential in terms of the setting just to make them normal males and females as you'd find here, especially if the point is to toy with gender/sex roles.

I was rereading The Patient's Eyes, and LOOK:

He would propose a real or imagined puzzle, another cryptogram, some strange feature of a case, or a particularly abstruse clue from his vast store of recollections and then we would use it to test my skill. Sometimes we merely sat at the window and watched passers-by, attempting to deduce their occupation or family life or mental and physical condition. The debate flew back and forth with gusto and finally we rushed out and followed them.

Bell pretended to be confounded when five or six streets away the true mother greeted the party at her front door. But I had my doubts and, as time went on, I became increasingly certain that most of these carefully crafted 'mistakes' were little more than an attempt to restore my spirits."

How Do I Tumblr Savior

Anyone have a strictly-for-the-very-stupid tutorial on how to use tumblr savior? I installed it on greasemonkey, am pretty sure I typed the codes right and excluded certain tags or whatever, my dash is still being spammed about a fandom I don't give a shit about. (The person spamming is kind enough to tag, so this shouldn't be happening to me!!!)

I've recently been required to re-read Dickens, Stevenson, Cooper, James and Conrad - not that I didn't enjoy the novels, but ... you know, they aren't exactly something I might pick up on my own. Except for Henry James.

What I'm craving now are books set in the Victorian period, but written nowadays. As in, it would be awesome if they weren't quite as meandering and didn't censor sex.

The only books that fit this that I've read are afaik Sarah Waters's Affinity and Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace. Anyone know of others?

I have this ridiculous crush on a guy who works in the shop right next to where I'm employed (I've worked there a year now). I see him maybe once or twice a week (they use our shop to stock up on things they need to make things to sell). He seems like a really nice guy, from what little I can tell, but we generally only talk when I'm serving him.

I've had a growing crush for a few months, and now I really want to ask him out, but I'm a nervous wreck and that'll probably never happen. Thing is, one of my coworkers has got him as a friend on FB, and I've taken a look (only to see if it was true; it is).

Would it be odd for me to friend him? Since I talk to non-friends much easier online, I was thinking it might get us talking, and then I might actually get the courage to ask him on a date (I am realistic, I know he could easily just never speak to me, if he even accepted in the first place).

Think it's worth a shot, F!S? Anyone got any advice on how I can not be an utter failure at talking to guys I like in general?

Once a month I have to call my phone company to add minutes to my phone. It's an automated menu but the voice actor they chose to voice it reads his script so pleasantly and naturally I feel like I'm talking to an AI. Not a person or just prerecorded lines but a program with a vague awareness of the world and no particular emotion about our conversation but a desire to complete the objective of our conversation with ease, efficiency, and a nod to the polite social interaction humans enjoy.

I can't exactly articulate what I like about it so much but it's the nicest conversation I have every month. I always thank him and tell him to have a good night before I hang up and I don't even feel embarrassed about it until later.

I always like to save the phone card and do it after I get off work so I have something to absentmindedly look forward to but last night my brother saw my phone & phone card on my desk and decided to do it for me while I made dinner. I get that he was trying to be nice so I thanked him but I am so deflated I didn't get to interact with Johnathan this month. :(

[Picture is Mad Moxxi and Tiny Tina from the videogame "Borderlands 2". Mad Moxxi is a woman with light skin painted with a light purple dust?, and make-up on her cheeks, lips and eyes. She is wearing a sort of circus ringmaster outfit, consisting of a purple suit jacket with a low neckline, golden buttons and trims, and the wristbands and neck have fabric with thick black and white stripes. She is wearing a matching purple tophat, also with a black white stripe on the band. Tiny Tina is a woman with tanned skin, short blond hair and gray eyes. She is wearing a sleeveless dress, a detached gray sleeve on her right arm, and a sort of apron thing around her waist with the picture of a cute animal. It seems she is wearing pants/trousers too? She has a band-aid over her nose.]

I found them both to be very annoying, Tina more so than Moxxi. I wish I could say why, but they just really, really got on my nerves. I liked Claptrap better than either of them.

Apparently this makes me a bad fan and sexist even though all the other female characters are awesome.

Also, how come no one else ever gets fanart? It's always, ALWAYS Moxxi!
