Mmh yes, that would have been nice. I'd take it a thousand times over the "you're not students now, you're numbers" speech they gave us on our first day. Way to address a bunch of scared students, principal!

I dunno how college/university in the US works, but I'd also settle for clubs to hang out after classes and bond over stuff.

It's a very, very well-made movie, but it's far from being a happy one.

I haven't read the comic so I can't speak to the changes...I bet they changed the name though because 'Curtis' is much easier for Koreans to say. I don't even know how you'd transliterate Proloff into hangul....
