After reading yet another rant on how show X sucks donkey balls, I wondered why the author watches it. Many of us have done the same, hell, I watched SPN well past the point where I had lost all interest, in the vain hope that it would become the same show it was during the first seasons. That never happened and I ended up hating it. Same with reading X-Men. After those experiences I swore that I'd never do that again and have since quit as soon as I didn't like the show or series anymore.

So, what are your reasons for continuing to watch a show or read a series that you used to like but now hate? Are you still hoping that it will get better, are you hatewatching, are you following an actor everywhere they go, or are you just content with seeing shirtless men/women on screen?

Does anyone have any intel on Kindle Worlds? I read a passing reference to it in a work-related blog today, but being at work, couldn't follow it up in-depth, except that there is at least one I might be interested in participating in (if my extremely rusty and decades-long-unused writing skills have any oomph left to them, that is...not that I ever progressed beyond the form rejection letters, back in the day).

I was wondering if there was anyone here who had any experience/info on how this worked and/or if they were a viable way to spend one's time writing for? Or are Kindle Worlds viewed as the ghetto below the semi-pros? Better or worse than unpaid fic? I am looking for someone with hands-on/inside intel, preferably, I can read the guidelines, etc., for myself. TIA

Tumblr tagging

I saw it argued in one of my fandoms recently that posts about non-can ships don't belong in fandom and character tags because not everyone likes them or wants to see them. The post got a good number of likes and people agreeing and so I'm curious what the consensus is here.

Personally, I disagree. As a multishipper, I like to be able to search fandom and character tags and see a medley of ships. There are ships I wouldn't have found if they weren't posted to the main tags. Plus it leaves people who want to post about ships that don't have their own tag out in the cold if they're expected to stay out of the main tags.

What do you guys think?

Renting out YOUR personal bike

So I was taking a survey online just now, and it was basically about whether you would rent out your personal bike to people, using an online service, and to say the very least it struck me as an odd concept. Basically you take a picture of your bike, put it up on this app thing, set rates for hourly, daily, and weekly, and if someone is interested, they contact you about using it, transactions are made, and off they go. Apparently this company insures your bike and credit checks these people, but I'm not sure what that I would do this, but I want to know what F!S thinks.

TL;DR: Would you rent out your bicycle for people to use (theoretically on vacation where you live)
