Have you ever broken anything. Gotten any cool scars. Been crippled beyond any hope of recovery.

Broke my left wrist when I was about 5. Was running in the house and slipped on a tiled part of the hallway, slid along the floor, slammed my wrist into the the bottom of the wall. No long lasting scars or anything. Except a bit of family weirdness about it.

I've only ever broken toes. However I still have a scar on my forehead from when I got 30 stitches. It was the night before high school graduation. I was coming back home from something with my parents. I was wearing too long dress. I tripped on the stairs and rammed my glasses into my forehead.

All my graduation pictures have me with a giant bandage on my face.

Nothing big. I'm too careful. Few scars here and there but meh.

Right now I have these mondo bruises all over my shoulders, though. They look super cool.

The back deck of my house is on the second floor, with a staircase down to the yard. I rode a space hopper down the stairs and went flying when I hit the bottom. My father had been trying to remove a tree stump, and he'd left his pickaxe out in the yard. I had a bald spot for years.

There was also a time I was bouncing on a trampoline at a birthday party, and a really heavy kid jumped on and bounced me right off. Broke my leg.

(I also have hidradenitis scars, but that's not exactly impressive.)

Edit: I forgot the tiny little scar on my finger. It's from cutting myself on the lid of a can of cream of mushroom soup. It's pretty hard to notice.

Since spring TV season is in swing and I've got nothing to do with my hands as I watch, I've decided to start a new cross stitch project. Going to be using this picture of Elsa as my base. 100x150 stitches = 15000 stitches lord help me.

During the latest Tumblr discussion about leaving reviews/feedback for fanfic writers, I came across someone who said they wouldn't bother leaving a review if the author didn't seem to reply to comments they'd already received. As someone who doesn't respond to reviews on AO3 (unless they ask a direct question) because I think it artificially inflates the comment count, it made me wonder if I was putting readers off. I always respond to questions and comments on my personal blog, but it feels spammy to me to do so on an archive site.

Thoughts, fic readers/writers? As writers, do you respond to every comment on A03, or reply to every review on FFnet? Readers, do you expect a reply from writers if you leave them a comment?

The problem that I have with trying to find stuff to put on my walls is this inescapable feeling that anything that I like - or, more specifically, anything that I can find that's affordable to me that I like - must be impossibly gauche, or it wouldn't be something that I could find and afford.

What martial arts have you done, F!S? Which forms would you recommend?

I've done some wushu and some kickboxing. I would really like to do some more, and my university has loads of clubs, but I've never straight up been in like a dojo before.

Any recommendations for a martial art that doesn't feel like you're joining a cult? (Like please no class introduction, every class, that is offering thanks to the creator of the art.)

Have you found that doing any kind of martial arts has filled other gaps in your life? Like, is it fulfilling creatively, spiritually?
