Is anyone else loving this as much as me? I've never really enjoyed talk shows before. I've never watched the Colbert show. But he is so, so funny and on point and perfect on this show. It is actually making me want to go and watch some of the Colbert Show.

This Saturday I'm going to a fencing lesson with a community I'm a part of. The biggest deciding factor in doing this was because I have a character that excels in fencing and I wanted to try it myself.

What trends do you like? Which ones do you hate?

I kind of like the 90s return thing. I'm old enough to remember the 90s, but only as a child, so sometimes it's like seeing things I vaguely remember from my childhood. I never wore that stuff because I was too young and probably too poor anyway (my mom got all my clothes secondhand).

I'm not a big fan of high-waisted things, though. I'm overweight so, depending on the fabric, they would roll up and slide down, or cut into my stomach. I don't mind them on other people though.

Strongly dislike the giant full beards. Especially when people get all pretentious with "homemade organic beard oil" (beard oil? My dad has a beard and I've never heard of this) or start with a bunch of sexist/homophobic "Real Man" stuff.

I like the look of the colored/pastel/grayish hair.

I'm glad septum piercings have gotten less popular. They reminded me of bulls.

I wish the trend of wearing pants that fit, sometimes even with a belt, but putting the waistband and belt under/halfway down the butt would go away!

So, seen the Republican Nominee debate on CNN

Is Rand Paul the sane Republican choice? I've only seen a part of the debate but he seemed like the best choice of the bunch; for the part that I tuned in I actually agreed with a lot of what he said. But jfc does he need to shut up about that mother going to jail for getting her kid medical marijuana during the marijuana debate.

Trump also didn't do that bad a job. Compared to some of the other candidates he looked down-right good, even with his lack of knowledge to anything foreign affairs related.

That said, what really pissed me off as a non-American was the way everyone droned on and on about America having to be a World Leader(tm), how the world needs a strong leader and how OF COURSE America will once more become a World Leader(tm) once they are elected president. Uh, newsflash: the world does not want a leader. The world is made up of autonomous countries who, for the most part, would very much like for the USA to stay out of their business and all that World Leader(tm) prancing about is one of the main reason why a lot of the world doesn't like America as a country. It's also one of the reasons for why the world is in a big a mess as it is right now, but I guess that doesn't go over well with the Republican voters. AMERICA FUCK YEAH!

does it bother me so much when roommates go out to do fun stuff together without inviting me or even telling me that they are leaving? I know they aren't obligated to be friends with me or invite me places or anything, but I don't know, I'm so lonely and depressed it never fails to make me sad. Especially when they don't tell me they are leaving and I go to one of their rooms to talk to them only to realize I am suddenly alone in the apartment, that always makes me really uncomfortable. I wish it didn't bother me so much.

I recently saw some very conservative lady claiming that when a woman yells at a man or just gets angry, he sees her as being a man, and therefore he loses any desire to not hit her just because she's a woman. The quote was something like "when you're angry and yelling, and your husband threatens you, he's actually pleading with you to calm down so he can keep himself from being violent and killing you/putting you in the hospital." Then some people suggested that it's okay to express displeasure to a man as long as you do it in a pouty and submissive way so he doesn't forget you're a woman.

This sounds extreme, but it isn't the first time I've seen something like this. Be submissive and do whatever your husband wants because don't you know he COULD beat the crap out of you whenever he's mad? And you should be thanking him constantly for not doing that.

As a kid, my father usually acted like I was annoying him just by speaking, and often seemed like he was just barely controlling himself from being violent (even recently, I went over to show him my shoes, not knowing he was in a bad mood and he just jabbed his elbow at me like a warning and sort of growled that I should know what I did to make him mad - but OF COURSE he wouldn't say what I actually did). It makes me afraid that everything I say is inherently meaningless and annoying, and even though I'm fairly quiet, I feel like I annoy everyone I speak to, to the point that I'm "pushing them too far" if I don't limit it and stay very agreeable. I feel like I can't be in a relationship, because I would have to walk on eggshells around them and would always fear them.

So anyway, are most guys like this? Do you want to punch out everyone who shows anger toward you, whether or not it's justified? Does it annoy you in the extreme when girls talk a lot or yell? Are you usually barely restraining yourself from hurting your girlfriend/wife if she's not a quiet, meek, person?
