Timothy Dalton will always be my favorite Bond (even if nobody else feels that way). I quite liked George Lazenby as well -- there was a vulnerability to his Bond that really appealed to me.

So apparently I've reached this point in life when everything sucks so much it's not even worthy of wallowing in it and is not even that painful, just... I don't know, tragically, absurdly funny or something, and I feel like absolutely powerless and stupid for what I used to think of my problems and myself and the world up to this point and I want to simply sit down and admire the nonsense I yesterday considered my flawless philosophy and I don't know, give it a lot of sympathy and let it go? And, BTW, it's not so much about external troubles (though I am going through some), as it is about an existential crisis of a sort.

So I've been really REALLY craving some angsty literature/movies/anime to enjoy while struggling with this. Need some so badly x__x I want it to be angsty but at the same time as realistic (psychologically) and mature as possible; and I admit it would be better if the work was focused on something a person my age (early 20s) could relate to, no Checkhov. Unrequited love is a plus. What should I read/watch?

I know I'm a little late, but I couldn't wait till tomorrow.

Try the anime Kino's Journey--I watched it during a similar time in my life and some of it really resonated with me.

And I hope the troubles, external or not, let up for you.

Stuff to do in New Orleans?

My friend and I are going in a few weeks, and still don't have much of an idea of what to do there. Neither of us are drinkers, but we've been assured there are still plenty of things to do that don't necessarily involve alcohol, so...suggestions? We want to do some kind of haunted ghost tour thing, but there seems to be about a billion of them, so does anyone have a recommendation for a specific one?

I'd go to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Audobon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas, and/or the Insectarium. The Insectarium is fabulous. Tons and tons of live and preserved insects and really interactive. Just walking around the Quarter and going into shops is really cool too.

James H. Cohen and Sons is a store in the quarter that has old coins and weapons if you're into that. I would also recommend Bourbon French Parfums and Bijounola for jewelry.

I don't know if you play video games, but I would like to recommend Valkyrie Profile, an RPG for the Ps1 and PsP, and the Ace Attorney series for the Nintendo DS.

Valkyrie has Lezard Valeth, who is pretty much completely immoral and practically oozes personality.

Ace Attorney is probably the closest thing to a playable detective novel, all of the characters are hammy and over the top, and many of the villains are complete monsters. I hope this helps : )
