semi-related: I once bought a book b/c it had a glowing review from an author I liked. The book sucked. I haven't been able to look at the author the same way sense.

I loved the 2003 version. Then it turned into a clusterfuck.

The 2009 version, though, was just okay.

I haven't seen the exact situation you describe with betas being the ones who turn into omegas (I usually see that trope done with alphas who get turned into omegas) but I agree that the incompatibility is more interesting. I love reading fics where two alphas get together

Mixed feelings on this. If it was fic, I'd want the characters to be in character. For art I want the characters to look like they do in the media I'm fanning, not some artist's interpretation. So, while I see the concern, I guess I'm not all that bothered.

Well, I don't think it was as overtly romantic as most films of this type are, but it can still be easily interpreted as romance so I wouldn't have called it a great example of a platonic friendship or anything.
