watching the Clone Wars series

without giving spoilers...nobody warned me about this.

I was hesitant to watch it for a long time because of the character models, but i got over myself and watched it anyway, and then the first season was fun and exciting, and then it started to get REAL and now Revenge of the Sith is 600% more tragic.

any other fans of this show? someone come cry with me about clones and Jedi and droids (oh my!)

I am in the middle of an argument with some members of my fandom group of individuals who happen to all be fans of the same thing... over my use of the word "fandom". I used it to mean the collective group of us who are fans of this particular thing, whether we're doing it on Tumblr or Instagram or writing fic or making gifs or just lurking quietly... we are fans. We are fandom.

They are pissed off because apparently calling them "fandom" is calling them "shippers" and they aren't "crazy shippers" who cook up crazy fan theories on Tumblr...

So how do you define "fandom"?

I think we can all come up with quite a few examples of shows that just kept getting worse with each season (or were quite good for a few seasons and then took an abrupt nosedive in quality), but how about the opposite? What are some shows that, in your opinion, only improved in quality with each passing season?

Years ago I used to RP a lot... all kinds of LJ communities, gen ones, sex ones. Now I'm 30 and a friend approached me asking where to find Harry Potter roleplay and I realised... I have no damn clue! It's been so long and I have no idea where all the cool kids hang out to roleplay now, all my old haunts are dead as doornails.

Tumblr surely can't be conducive to it... where does the RP happen nowadays?

I go to Five Guys probably about three times a year, because I don't think they have great burgers and fries but there's something different about them that sometimes I want. So I went in today, about 9 p.m. because I figured it'd be least busy -- and it was. Just me and two people ahead of me.

So the guy only had to make three burgers and one order of fries (mine). Just about the time I was getting annoyed at watching him shuffle around at a snail's pace, I took my eyes off the prep area to check my phone, and when I looked up he'd called my number and one other. I walked up, said my number and he looked down and goes "Oh! I put the fries in the wrong bag!" and goes digging around to swap out the burgers and rips the receipts off each bag and swaps them around and then hands it to me, saying (so I thought) "Little cheese?" I say yes, take my food and go home.

Apparently, what he actually said was "double cheese" because I got home to a mammoth burger with half the toppings I asked for and a couple I didn't. But I was doing good to get out of the house and get that, and certainly didn't feel like going back out, so I ate it, even though I could barely get my mouth around it. (It tasted fine.)

And yet, somehow, even though it's this guy who couldn't keep three orders straight or speak clearly, I'm sitting here blaming myself because "he probably just assumed I had the big burger because I'm fat." And EVEN IF THAT'S TRUE, it's still a pretty poor reflection of him.

So why do I feel shitty about it?
