So I stopped taking anti-anxiety meds because I was pregnant and then I was nursing and I was okay because of the hormones but now I'm not. And in that time, my psychiatrist moved away and I switched primary care doctors two months ago. So on Monday I'm calling for an appointment to go ask a complete stranger for my Klonopin back and I. Am. Terrified. Because, you know, the whole anxiety thing.

And to distract me I logged onto the RP I've been playing that I didn't tell about my crazy because I have issues with oversharing and now people are asking me if I'm okay and I'm really not and I don't want to tell them. Not that they'd be anything less than totally cool, hell, some of them have talked about their mental health openly before, but one, anxiety and two, I overshare like an oversharing thing. Because when I started this, I was in a different RP, and I left because people were making secrets on F!S about how I was an oversharing drama queen, seriously, that is why rp secrets aren't allowed anymore, yeah, I was that Sunstreaker.

And I'm hoping if I post this here I won't dump all over my online friends because the anxiety plus the new baby means I don't have any RL friends so I'm just really overwhelmed and I don't even care if I get trolled I just can't do this silently anymore and I can't even stop being crazy long enough to ask my friends for help with being crazy. Fuck my life.

Have you ever tried a nonmedical ways to cope with your anxiety? Besides escapism I mean.

Also: frankly, if you have so many RP friends who use this site you aren't really avoiding unloading this on them at all? They're going to see it. That's why you said you're that Sunstreaker. You want them to see it but are kind of dancing around it. It's okay to want them to see that you're having problems.

Like an hour to an hour and a half and it really pisses me off.

And she has really long thick hair that gets clogged in the drain and I HAVE to snake it out

It REALLY pisses me off and I want to confront her about it but my husband is friends/co-workers with her and I don't want to start drama

Not to mention that showering every day is pointless and not even good for your skin and hair (I could understand bathing a little every day once it starts to get hot here in Texas, to get the sweat off, but it's not necessary to take a full-on fucking shower every damn day)

What. Why can't you just casually say "hey, could you take your hair out of the drain after you shower please"? That's not starting drama, that's normal housemate interaction.

What you can't do is tell her not to shower every day. That would definitely start drama.

One of my older fanfics has had a flood of reviews these past few days. Which is cool, but...why? I want to know where they're all coming from. If I was recced somewhere, I'd really like to see it...not in a bad way, just out of curiosity. *shrugs* Am I weird for feeling this way?

Nope, not weird at all. A year ago, one of my old fics was randomly flooded with visitors from France and Belgium. I tried to find where my fic was linked, but never came back with anything.

Try google to search for the rec, if you haven't already. Check out the big reccing comms of het-reccers, epic-recs, crack-van, and fancake. Unfortunately, these days it might have been linked on tumblr, which can make it difficult to find things. Check out the tags for the fic's fandom and ship, and any relevant name-smushes.

Once Upon a dream

I dreamed last night that Once Upon a Time was actually about a future world in which pockets of humanity struggled against clans of non-quite-zombie/not-quite vampire mutants (they were warlike; they hungered after the flesh and blood of regular humans; they were incredibly long-lived, such that they seemed to some to be immortal; and they were fully sentient. If one bit you and you survived, then you would not become one of them, but you could pass the mutation onto your children should you have any from that point on). Much of society and culture had degraded; feudalism had come back into fashion and various religious revivals had taken place. Advanced technology still existed to some extent, but it was the province only of the very privileged (lords, ladies, knights). And I got the impression that the UK had fared better than the US, as someone mentioned that the current exchange rate was 800 American dollars to 1 British pound.

In the dream, there was an incursion into a fiefdom, and a small group was trying to fend it off (and doing poorly). They had a device called a Signal Spear to call others to their banner, but so far no one but an old priest had come. Meanwhile, an inscrutable fellow had taken advantage of the chaos and was in the midst of kidnapping the lady of the fief.

One of the protagonists ran into the woods, which were dotted with sanctuaries watched over by hedge-witches. But each sanctuary he came to was abandoned. Eventually, he came to a place in the forest that was split by a river and a great lake, and he knelt down by the lake in despair. He was sure that his home was lost, and that there was nothing that could be done.

It has nothing to do with Once Upon a Time at all, but, well...in the dream, that's what I was watching, and the above was on my screen. I wish this actually was a show.
